Ballet Folklorico Mexico

The Ballet Folklorico Mexico sizzled at the Columbus 4th of July Festival last week. Colorful dresses twirled and headdresses sliced the smokey air as bratwurst cooked on the grill behind them.
It takes a better photographer than I to make an smokey photo look good in the sun. Here's what I saw after the smoke cleared.

  1. Oh those costumes look beautiful! It reminds me of the Latin contestants' costumes at Miss Universe! Very colorful and extravagant!

    1. I'm trying to find out more about this group and "colorful" is a good description.

    1. A lot of the shots were so smoky at first and I don't have many good pics of the 10-year-old group but you can feel the energy nonetheless.

    1. It was nice to be the one standing relatively still and taking photos in the heat that's for sure.

    1. I had a great seat for much of it then knew I had to work around the bratwurst smoke to get some better shots.

    1. I was hot just walking over to see them and standing there, I was surprised the feathers didn't wilt or whatever hot feathers do.

    1. There are a few groups with this name and I think this one has de los hermanos Avila at the end of it, distinguishing them from other Folklorico troupes. I messaged the people who hosted this particular event and they didn't know much. They said to ask some guy at a local restuarant, lol.
