A Little Tipsy

I expected this shed to slide into the water while dining at the Anchor in Newville today. The Anchor is on the Rock River with tempting steak sandwiches and burgers with respectable curds and an ab fab view.

Wheeee, splash

This Naughty Mermaid was a little too naughty so I pasted on a basket of delicious cheese curds

A beer called, "Foggy Geezer" by Warpigs Brewing was pretty intriguing

Bluegill & Eggs and a Pancake Pier?

  1. Oh my! That shed does look like it is about to slide into the water. I wonder what that story is. Foggy Geezer, lol, sounds like a forgetful old man.

    1. Yeah it does, ha ha. I'll have to ask next time we go while sipping a Foggy Geezer, the beer I mean.

    1. I think we'll be back and hopefully sit on the deck closer to the river.

  3. You, tipsy? Hi hi hi hi ... and who drove the car?! ... your mother of course!!! :))
I see in the menu, "New Belgium"! Is this also bear?

    1. No, haa, I meant the shack thing was tipsy, although I was just telling her that I wished I drank because I wanted to try an old Foggy Geezer. Sure, isn't Belgium beer a creamy, thicker, non bitter beer, let's see what the menu says...sweet, yeah, a mild bitter finish, hmmm, I remember drinking Belgium beers and although pleasant my favorite was a pale ale.

    2. You know that Belgium is neighboring to the Netherlands ?! We also have jokes about the Belgians ... :))

    3. I didn't really, no. Oh yah, we've got jokes about almost everyone but not the Belgians or Dutch. Are they like the Lena and Ole ones or more like Polish jokes? I will now look at a map.

    1. It's a fun place, more of a fair weather pub from the looks of it. There's a boat launch to the side too.

  7. Yes, poster was the best part of that movie. I want to eat at pancake pier! Yes, I agree! Donna is fantastic! So whitty. Yes, waiting for season 7 too though I heard it isn't coming out until July. Bummer! Though I guess good for me because than I can actually get some things done. I also watched 13 reasons but this is really geared for those who might have highschoolers or who are highschoolers. Pretty eye opening ! I don't think I want to send my daughters to high school if some mean girl can call them a slut and torture them based on no merit. I never really understood why some kids are so mean to others. The last episode is brutal. It should have come with an extra warning for it's graphic nature.

  8. Ha, that's too bad, the kids deserve better movies, especially in the summer. I want to eat at that pier as well and have to look into the whole thing cuz the place looked deserted yesterday and there was a whole lot of competition in one small area. But who can compete with a pancake pier and bluegill and eggs?
I was watching S7 on the ROKU USA app because I don't have cable and think of paying for it the same way I do paying for Starbucks coffee. But after he got caught, went to jail and then released it seemed kind of pointless, plus it wasn't worth the commercials.
Have we talked about 13 Reason Why because I just got done watching S2. I was looking for someone else to discuss it with so I'll have to pop back over your way. I don't know if I would let my highschooler watch and thought it made a pretty girl seem not good enough and could make a kid think you had to have sex by age 16 or you were worse off than someone who committed suicide. I have a whole lot more to say on the subject but this comment got way too long.

  11. Pancake pier and lunch dock sounds like a good place to eat. I'd be sorely disappointed if there were no pancakes. Pasting cheese curds on the mermaid, hahahahaha. Strippers beware!

    1. Their menu has no short of pancakes and waffles and French toast and crepes, yum. I confess I was hoping for something along the lines of a pier made up of pancakes though and there is another illustration I can't draw, waaaahh. I was worried I'd be the only one that found that basket of curds funny. She was protruding enough to cause concern and I had this photo of cheese curds, so...

    2. I was seeing the same image--a pancake pier--and wondering if there might be waffles and chicken at the lunch dock.

  15. A pancake pier sounds fun. Like the signs (even the naughty mermaid, lol). Why was the shed there? were they going to back up a boat to it to take it somewhere?

    1. Even after looking at their menu I don't quite grasp the concept, Mary but I'm willing to find out fist hand. I don't know why the shed is there unless those boats are rentals and they store things for the boats? Her bits were a bit too naughty I thought.

  16. Hi Jeanna, go on, be honest, how long did you sit waiting for that shed to slide int the water? I think I may have had thrid helpings waiting - well you can't sit and wait and not eat, can you?... And don't the mermaids over your neck of the woods have no shame? But covering her up with delicious cheese curds may not have been the best way to go...Just one sniff of that Foggy Geezer would have me all fogged up, maybe that's what mermaid girls had been on before climbing up on that there roof?

Thank you for stopping by and linking up with #keepingitreal.

    1. I would have stayed for hours if I'd been there with someone else besides my mother. Always being the sober one has it's drawbacks. Those curds were quite good and just typing in the word "curds" now I want more. This mermaid had no shame and rather pointed nipples I must say. I think that mermaid has seen worse.
