Frizzy Buoy Would Make A Good Name For A Band

I'm not sure how I keep accumulating so much junk but I do know deadheading it is so tedious that I keep ending up at the lake.

So much better than doing something productive and necessary

My excuse for these lake runs (sounds like a stomach disorder) has been that I dug a raft out of storage and it needs to be tested on water (besides what's leaking from the pipes and ponding in the basement). I couldn't even find the foot pump (like that's going to happen) on the day I took these photos but since I literally can not sink I went out on the lake camera in hand (and sometimes in cleavage) to see what I could find.

Cosmo, quite happy to be a dog

Today I found two electric pumps, two nozzle attachments and alien oars so I meandered off to the lake again with a vague sense of purpose. And it rained the second I got there so I guess I have to go back.

I chased this bloody fish around the lake like a frizzy buoy, can you even see it bottom left

  1. Hi Jeanna, I have this vision of The Niggly Hips singing their debute song These Lake Runs (you really have started something now). The lake looks a lovely place to swim (apart from the stony bottom). Bet it's cold though, water is always cold near mountains... I see the fish! I see the fish! It does look a little camera shy, but you got it's head. #MySundayPhoto

    1. How are those niggly hips doing there, Deb? Between the lake runs and that stony lake not a happy day for bottoms. Did you ever watch that show with Ade Edmonson and Rik Mayall? You've got to wear your water shoes and even then it's a circus act to get back to shore. Of course I could just park and do some extra walking to the beach proper (also a good name for a band?). It isn't all that cold and remember we've had plenty of those 33C plus days.

  4. Oh it's been years since I've sailed on a raft. Your post makes me jealous, as do the pictures. That lake is just so inviting. #mysundayphoto

    1. I put that musty raft in my car and went back after this post, giving the raft, pump and new paddles to a friendly couple who blew it up for me. It can be a crowded place on the weekends but the weekdays beckon. I'm pretty happy to be swimming around with the other fish although I've thought about looking for my snorkeling stuff.

    1. They do a good job of keeping most motors off the lake and there aren't many houses to cause run off from fertilized lawns. I'm not sure those places even have lawns. We watched some kid get kicked off the lake for having what looked like a small electric motor.

    1. This is my favorite shore because you can drive your car right up to the beach and it's the most popular one with dogs. I'm thinking of going back soon.

  7. Way more fun then doing something that needs doing at home. Cosmo agrees too. Such summer fun.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

    1. There is one more perfect lakewise that's not too far, but scenery wise you can't beat it for something being only 35 miles away.

  11. Love your first photo and its caption! How lucky to live close to such a beautiful lake - I too would be swimming rather than clearing out junk!

    1. Ironically there's a lake across the street or several yards away depending on how you look at it, but yuk. There was a time I'd just go to that one and long ago to the worst of the three (but that's subjective). It's actually put a crimp in my cleaning but oh well.

  13. Stunning lake views! If we had a lake nearby, we'd probably spend our days there too. Amazing that the water is so clear, and you can see the fish.

    1. We've got three lakes and one of them practically out my back door and I wouldn't put a toe in.

  14. Yup, I can see the fish. Maybe its name is Frizzy Buoy, though I wondered if you thought the guy in your first photo was a Frizzy looking Boy. Going to the lake sounds like purpose to me. Better than deadheading, which I need to do with the flowers right now. I wish I had a raft and a lake nearby.

    1. One of my dreaded nicknames in grade school was, "Frizz Bomb" so I kind of owned it. The purpose was to get out of here with a good excuse to stop organizing and cleaning so yeah, a good enough reason. I would send both your way if I could, my friend.

  15. Sooo much better than whatever else you could have been doing. We should have spent more time in your state when we were traveling. (I could only carry my camera the first way, by the way, I’m jealous! )

    1. Maybe you still can, Sallie. I found this little pns tough camera at a good price and although it's not as good as the more expensive Olympus tough, I have lots of fun with it and love tucking it in my cleavage when I swim in the lake, lol.

  16. If there was a lake nearby with such clear water, I would have a lot of runs, Jeanna:) That s, when it also has a clean beach or shore! Just realized you have the same subject as I this week - great minds, and all:):)
Many thanks for sharing it for All Seasons, and see if we're matching up next week (laugh) Have a fantastic week!

    1. It doesn't look that clear though my goggles when getting deeper, cleaning it up in Elements did that, but it is that clean when you first walk in and aside from a white sock and lavender solo cup, I found it pretty clean especially for the amount of people who use it.
You know, I think we did! We both posted about flowers.

  18. So typical it should rain when you got there! We are in the midst of a heatwave right now and could do with some rain. If I go out and buy some suncream that should do it!! :D

    1. That's okay, I needed the short road trip. We had a hot weekend but judging from the wind and clouds today I expect a good rain and cool down. Don't forget that sunscreen and water and juice and fruit. I hope temps have fallen by now.
