Impressive Art

Impressive Art is the name of a filter on my tough pns which gives a dark, saturated apocalypse vibe. I'll show you.

Maybe Mary Berry is in that tent, but maybe Paul Hollywood is in there with her. I'll just sit here and look at flowers

The apocalypse look is perfect for the week I've had

Between people running through stop signs and toddlers running into rush hour traffic, I can't believe I made it to Sunday without a sedative

More on that later but for now, sunflowers

  1. Very interesting effect. The sunflowers look like an alien from space invasion, so different from the usual smiling sunflowers. Let's hope people learned and stop at signs and keep their kids out of the street this week.

    1. Ha, yes they do, Susie. I may have to post a few normal sunflowers since I schlepped all the way over there with my Canon and two lenses. Ohh My Gawd. I never did tell that story. What a friggin' thing. And you know, right across from there a 10 and 14-year-old pulled a gun on someone at the ballpark cuz he told them they had to leave the grounds. I think that happened today.

    2. Oh God! Those kids need some disciplining in the worse way. Stay safe, Sister.

    3. Yards away from there two little boys came up and gave me shit but I'm so used to dealing with wild little boys I gave them what for. I actually talked to a cop about it and we discussed they could still benefit from a friendly visit from her. But still, they very well could have had at least one gun between them. I mean we pulled some sh*t growing up, but guns?

    1. I love that filter, the better tough camera had something similar by a different name.

    1. Lots of close calls ending on Sunday with who I'm convinced is a serial murderer at a diner turning around and looking all serial murdery over a joke the waitress made about her name at that song, "Jenny" by Tommy TuTone...8675309 yine.

    1. They looked past their prime on opening day so I thought a filter would give them life or death or an edge. Do flowers need an edge?

  5. Hello, the sunflowers are my favorite flower in the summer. Lovely sight to see and great photos. Enjoy your day and new week ahead!

    1. I hope you did and do, Eileen. That shouldn't be a problem with so much nature practically arm's length.

  6. Sunflowers ... apopolyptic or not .... are beautiful and better for you than a tranquilizer. That said, I eagerly await your tale of the awful weekend!

  7. Hello Jeanna - thank you for also looking at "Reflections in July" - I checked about the comments - yes, you're right, I increased it till 31 days before the comments close. Love the filter you used for this week's capture. It makes me think of one of Photo shop's filters I use - love this result and many thanks for sharing it with All Seasons!
About your first comment: Yes, flowers take much time and wishing you success for building back up your flower patch. The wall with the dead vines - that would be the only sign of a normal winter here in California, instead of all that snow we had! Have more fun with trying out filters this week:)

    1. I don't know which one that is but I switched to Elements a while back because PhotoShop was so expensive and I no longer had a student discount. I do miss using PS and a filter package I'd bought for it but that's one of the things I like about this cheap little camera.

    1. I missed one of the "new" shows we're finally getting last night which I keep forgetting about even though I've been waiting so long to see them. it's like only a few seasons were allowed for years and finally one more season is being released.

  12. Hi Jeanna, the sight of a sunflower can be very calming, but I'm not sure they would work on me if I'd had a week like yours! I'd be a twitchy wreck (twitchier than usual, in any case). I do like the affect of the filter though, it makes the photos look more like paintings than photos.

Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.

    xx

    1. I'm glad they picked up Sunflower Days because the place that had spectacular fields got sick of having it.
