Too Much Like Mr. Freeze?

I've been stuck inside since Tuesday when the Batman villain sounding Polar Vortex got the best of my car.

Meanwhile, I've learned a few things.

😜 Each and every one of those little slots in my CD storage is full of dust.
😜Most of them are empty except for the dust because I stopped listening to CDs in the 90s.
😜If you turn the ceiling fan on top speed with a floor full of packing peanuts you can reenact scenes from Twister ("You've never seen it miss this house and miss that house and come after you!").
😜No matter how bored I am I will never clean out those boxes I've been moving around for five years.
😜I have a surplus of string lights for every conceivable holiday but not one single spare light bulb.

My udders are frozen together

  1. Funny picture! I occasionally listen to a cd in my car, but most of mine are gathering dust.

    1. The CD player in my car died which is why I had a few around. As soon as I copy them onto my computer they are outta here.

  3. Your post made me giggle. You and I could not live in the same house, I'd have to unpack those boxes or they would drive me mad :)

    1. I'm begrudgingly cleaning out the front hall closet because it got patched up today and guess what, found two more boxes.

  4. I have boxes of CDs and DVDs stored somewhere that I haven't touched for years!

    Love that pic!

    1. I think I've gotten the DVDs down to a reasonable number but I doubt I'll ever watch one.

  5. I have heard a lot about your Polar Vortex. It sounds like my idea of fun! I just hope all your old folk and homeless are okay and have shelter.

That said, I have learned something from this post. Be very careful around electric fans when using packing materials.

    1. Believe me, it's no one's idea of fun. The icy sidewalks and roads might be one of those dangerous for most but fun for some deals. They just showed a kid in hockey skates zipping down the sidewalk, so fun for him. They did go the extra mile for people with warming buses and extra shelters and extended hours. I believe the city police were also rounding people up to bring them to safety.
The peanuts were like those little Dorothy silver things in Twister, did you see Twister?

  6. Do not talk to me about unpacking boxes!!!!!!
We just moved in December (that's why I've been absent so much on my blog) and two rooms are still full of boxes ...
About the ceiling fan ... you turn the ceiling fan on top speed during a Polar Vortex ? Then you really are Batman's wife! Hahahahaha ....

    1. Was Batman's wife Catwoman? I don't remember. It was cabin fever I tell ya. Moving is the worst, I believe you since I still have stuff I haven't figured out what to do with from five years ago.

    1. I suspect this cow, which lives in front of a campus bar and brat hause, has suffered indignities it's best not to think about.

  8. Hello, I had a chuckle over your Coor's Cow. My motto if you do not use it every day you do not need it, especially if it is packed away in a box. I can imagine the peanut twister happening, they are not easy to clean up. I think it is warming up here tomorrow and next week, YAY! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post today. Happy Saturday and have a great weekend. PS, thanks for the comment on my blog.

    1. Must have been a special on Coors that night, Eileen, but I'm not sure what the kids are drinking these days. That last time I was there they were giving away something sweet and red in plastic shot glasses. I agree with you in theory but I had a nightmare about an afghan in the "to go" pile so there it sits. Hope you got a break in the weather, I just heard more below zero temps here coming up which is perfect to freeze over all the rained on sidewalks and streets. I saw a kid wipe out on the snow today.

  9. Very amusing. You made me smile on another frosty morning that was promised to be above zero. Hope your car is fixed by now so that you can get out and about.

    1. Did it turn out to be above zero Phil? We had some. Then it rained and hailed and snowed and rained and all that icy goodness is freezing over. Oh man, it just got fixed on Tuesday. AAA crapped out on me and I had to pay for a tow out of pocket. Eight days that whole thing took.

  10. Oh my gosh I have visions of swirling peanuts through the air - I'd hate to have to pick them all up! Hope the sun is out - go somewhere and do something! Thanks so much for the smile this morning!

    1. It worked well for reenacting one fo my favorite scenes from Twister, Carol. We didn't see a lot of sun when I finally got out on Saturday but it was "warm" and people acted like 38 was 80.

    1. The car CD player broke but I still have plans to copy the small stack I have left to my laptop. I think a boat is the perfect place for CDs cuz do you really care what happens to them?

  14. CDs I have a drawer full of them - hard to put away! 3rd - smile with glee, 4th a groan, because I have some!, last - am obsessive, so have an array of spare light bulbs:)
The polar vortex put Wisconsin on the map! As I am writing, I look out the window and it began to snow here in the Californian mountains!
Many thanks for your humorous link to All Seasons!

    1. I like the wooden drawers I put my CDs in a lot more than the CDs. I have an array of string lights and I clean those out a few times a year. I did find a spare light bulb but threw it out because I have no idea where it's supposed to go. I think WI was already on the map but hard to see from California. Ah, hope it's a pretty snowfall, starting another round here tonight, maybe I'll get off my butt and take some photos.

    1. I'm pretty sure it got colder since last week but warm enough for a big snowfall tonight and warm enough to use salt in all neighborhoods for the first time so that's something. It's the little things, really. I spit (which freezes in mid air) on your 68 and 70 degree weather.

  17. Poor Elsie, poor baby. So, will you throw out the 5 boxes without looking inside? I've managed to condense my 2 boxes of notebooks into a 2-ft pile on the floor. We got rid of a box full of string lights just before Christmas. Now I'm mulling over how much I really want a string or two or three of tiny solar lights and would I really string them up in the back yard in a weird way.

    1. I don't think it's possible for me to do something like that. Even if I had already gone through and indexed and color coded the contents. Molly could have fun with that pile, especially if you start crumpling up paper. A working box of sting lights? I love the solar fairy lights, they're up all year long on the porch. I bet you would string them up in a weird way, so let's get crackin' sister.

  19. Hi Jeanna, it sounds as if someone was very, very bored. Better that than freezing your udders off... Now where are those packing peanuts? I really need to try that out!
