It's Only Going to Get Worse From Here or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Don
Undercover
I finally peeked my head outto watch Trump's cabinet shaping up like The Simpson's Jury of the Damned.
Speaking of deals with the devil my Cub-loving relatives were still celebrating their victory last Friday at my Aunt Ginny's 95th birthday party.
Will never take off jersey
The two cousins in the middle are rabid baseball fans and the one wearing the Cubbie's jersey hasn't taken it off since the post...I'm guessing.
Aunt Ginny, 95 and still eating Black Jack Taffy, the Dempsey-Olson's Favorite candy
The real black cat was roaming around a crowd of loud Irish democrats wondering if this was his life now. Then he heard Jeff Sessions was part of Trump's Cabinet-in-Waiting and broke into someone's stash of medical marijuana. Maybe this is the real cat.
Worried this is now his health care
The little furball (not the one on the couch) is no stranger to Dempsey parties but has chosen to stay hoisted in mid-air for the next four years.
As the late, great Rik Mayall said, "Balls."
Although Black Jack Taffy brings back memories of my grandma and grandpa hiding them throughout the house I'm wondering if this basket of jumbo jawbreakers will stifle political conversation this thanksgiving.
Salmo Pond looking all I can't believe it's November and I live in Wisconsin
I think this incredible weather has been a last meal of sorts.
Have been taking my mother on Nature-centric road trips to soak up this end of days weather. Rustic Road 110
It certainly doesn't feel as if hell has frozen over, but I'll get back to you on that after this weekend.
Plenty of vertical space, cats ok.
Can't swing Canada but am looking at other options.
I was on my way back from shoe shopping and played around with the custom setting on my camera for some nice tree shots, Susie. Yeah I don't begrudge them the win although I'm a Dodger fan (:
That political scene just gets worse and worse - I am glad to be back in Canada after 9 years in Iowa. Your family looks wonderfully festive and fun - congrats to your aunt on her milestone! I love the shot of the tree trunks - beautiful spot!
Your cute doggie and wow, I hope I look as good as your aunt at 95! That was certainly worth a celebration:) Your landscapes are beautiful too. Thanks for sharing all these experiences with AL SEASONS, and a happy Thanksgiving to you!
The dog is adorable! It certainly has been an interesting couple of weeks. I agree the weather has been awfully nice (too nice) for November. Love the beer bottle! Thank you so much for joining Friday's Hunt. Hope you have a great week!
It was an interesting week with Thanksgiving following the most divisive election of our lifetime (I'm guessing). I'm still amazed by your frosty photos, EH. You and the boys and girls have a warm and industrious week too.
Glad to see you back and bringing smiles again... all we can do at this point is keep on. And I need and thank you for the smiles! I might be tempted to try that "no medical card needed in Oregon" substance before this four years is up. At my age and with my lack of experience though I'd probably be safer to stick with what those mind altering substances I know and love ... coffee, wine and chocolate!
I wish I knew what Blackjack taffy was.... and it would probably be a good idea to take a bag of jawbreakers along with the rest of my contributions to TG dinner this afternoon.
I'm trying, Sallie, tho' with Darth Trump shaking the alt right trees for his cabinet and the difficulty of the season it ain't easy staying away from the taffy. You can get it online pretty easily, but I like the trip and being in an old candy store. I expect to look up and see Jimmy Stewart filling a basket next to me. Get a card for me! Sadly I can't do much with that trifecta anymore. Maybe a nibble of chocolate or several.
Please don't link your blog in the comments or it will be deleted. Your comment, not your blog, but wouldn't that be unsettling? Blog Hop Links are in the sidebar.
Happy 95th! That's one mighty big brew!
ReplyDeleteBigger than my apartment.
DeleteGo Cubs! That's at least one good thing that happened this year. That's a pretty sweet photo you took of the trees.

DeleteI love to see 95-year-old lady still sound and healthy and look much younger for her age. She reminds me of my late mother.
ReplyDeleteYoko
She is a real spark plug and is at every family gathering of which there are many. There's no stopping her. I'm sorry you lost your mother, Yoko.

ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could join you, Claire. Funny you should write that as the Green Party is leading WI into a recount. Good for them.
DeleteFun collection of images!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/11/haifa-israel.html
I worry about getting out in the winter, Sue.
DeleteNice set of photos :-)

ReplyDeleteShe still gets her hair done every Thursday, JSG. I hope you had a great one and day after birthday celebration.

ReplyDeleteLovely weather, anyhow.
Oh indeed, Villrose, oh indeed.
DeleteIt was such a lovely and funny post. Loved it and all the pictures that went along with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, KL, keep feeding the birds and the bees, my friend.
