Cooling off

It has cooled down some but this biker was hot enough to pour water all over himself. I love how he uses his water bottle for a Magic Mike moment instead of jumping into the lake in front of him.

He should consider himself lucky that his armpits mask the smell of Lake Mendota

    1. It did then back again with a fairly miserable weekend. Today I've got the sliding door open with the fan on and it's hovering aroudn 85˚. I had no idea I'd be this weather obsessed when I became an old coot (not the bird).

    1. It's more trustworthy if you don't look at it or get a good whiff, DS.

  4. Oh dear, does the lake smell that bad? There's certainly been a lot of similar cooling-off over on this side of the Atlantic, what with our recent heatwave. I think maybe this guy was going for a dramatic pose! #mysundayphoto

    1. I certainly can stink up the city, but truth be told it wasn't so bad that day although there are too many worse than an armpit days lodged in my sense memory.

    1. I know the feeling, another reason not to bike through the city anymore.

    1. Ugh, and this weekend too. I think if you can get past Tuesday you'll have a pleasant week to work that ankle, Darren.

  9. Hi Jeanna, it's almost Magic Mike moment, but not quite, he's wearing far too many clothes! A candid moment, nicely caught.

    1. I don't think a soggy bottom is conducive to biking.

    1. Hmm, soccer, I suppose he could care about that. I believe the US has a soccer team but I've never seen anyone cry about it. I mean more people have grimaced over Joe Theismann's leg than will ever shed a tear for soccer I'm guessing...hoping.

  12. LOL about his armpits!!! Nice "street" capture! It's been exceptionally hot here in Southern California too!

    1. I bet it has, I was just listening to someone from a PA university say how it's only going to get worse because of carbon emissions. The heat, the floods, the fires are all tied together. The number of large fires all over the world and especially in Greece and CA was so large I couldn't comprehend it.

    2. When I first met the Husband, his armpits sometimes smelled like the spice cumin and sometimes like a baby. I think it came from the sticks that ward off smell (I can't remember the name right now). When he stopped using them, the cumin and baby scents eventually went away.

    3. He or you could sell that sh*t. Who wouldn't want their man to smell like cumin and baby powder? When you say the sticks that ward off smell do you mean deodorant, haaaa.

    1. I wish I took more but you know I don't like having my photo taken and I've had a few run ins, but you keep at it and learn how to deal. They really are my favorite types of shots, though.
