Color My World

I found a little fall color after a gloomy Sunday so made a few more day trips when the weather turned bright and warm.

Looking at Halloween decorations with my mother on a mostly gloomy Sunday
The trees seemed prettier in Lake Mills, maybe because we were high on fast food

Dexter and I had a fire alarm scare when I got home. I was the only one that brought out their cat (still the same guest cat I've had since April).
Out again at the beginning of the week, this time near Lodi. I was hoping that shed was a bathroom, it wasn't

After finding a bathroom at a closed campground ala Friday the 13thseriously, it's called, "Crystal Lake"—I saw this sign reminding me that getting old had its perks
The next day I found a place I never found before, then immediately got lost

  1. Hi Jeanna, what lovely fall autumnal colours! I don't think you can class Dexter as a guest cat anymore, you saved him from an almost fire and he does look quite content in the carrier.... So did you get to eat six dinners for $8.00 all in under two hours?... I'm having visions...

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.

    1. When we made the rare mid-week trip and found the trees to be "scraggly" and lacking in true fall color. Three of us drove over an hour north and only got candy store photos, haha.
Wrangling Dexter was a hoot, but he was calmer than I thought. I had him in the back of the SUV and was talking to him and taking photos the whole time. Lots of "rescued" dogs but not a single cat. He was happy to be away from the loud alarm.
I got a lovely Salisbury steak with veggies and mashed potatoes and a fab cup of bacon flavored bean soup for under 8 bucks. Ha, 4-6 is their Happy Hour and I had a Pepsi just like the sign told me to.

    2. From inside the candy stores?... I now have this vision of you having a full on conversation with Dexter (it's okay I do it with all our animals, at least they actually appear to listen!)... And that dinner sounds rather tasty. I could do with that myself, but no pud? Really?

    3. What, no, I guess I meandered off topic and onto last week's trip to my favorite candy store, not yet a post because it's going to be a long one or possibly two. Yes, I have far too many conversations with my guest cat, Dexter Demon Ginger God of Mischief and find myself meowing back at him when he's pointing out some injustice. I'm pretty sure my neighbors think I'm nuts. Oh he listens, just enough to make a point of ignoring me. Yeah, I wanted dessert but was too full and actually got a doggie bag. Plus which I'm cheap.

  3. Nice fall post, great photos. Seems to me that gloomy often comes with autumn.

    1. It felt like fall for a week but without the sun. We haven't had that combination of 60s and sunny I look forward to every year.

  4. Hello Jeanna, the fall colors are gorgeous. I love the cute kitty in the carrier. I hope that was just a false alarm. That sounds like a deal for dinner. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

    1. It's cloudy and raining today after a week of heavenly weather but it highlights the leaves and trees. It was a false alarm but good practice for us both since I've never put him in his carrier before and his only experience is his daddy taking him away. I think it was good for him to see I brought him back and made that awful alarm sound go away. He was better than I thought.

    1. You're right, I can't leave a comment on you blog, but love all the deer. They're starting to come out more and more which makes night time driving on my street a little challenging sometimes.

  9. Wished that the trees here would get high on fast food! Ah, love these bright leaves. And your last capture is phenomenal! Did you change blog themes too (if so, it must be contagious, because I did this last weekend:)) Thanks for all these gorgeous views for All Seasons Jeanna, also your mom's home - she did a great job! Have a beautiful Fall week:)

    1. I'm trying to picture what that would look like, J., and imagine burger wrappers and empty big gulps caught in branches. It's been looking pretty good finally, thanks, that last photo was just me not knowing where the hell I was again. Yes, I'll change it again close to December. I hope you enjoy a smoke free week with some color.

  10. Such beautiful autumn colours. I love how the house was decorated for Halloween, it's something we don't do in the UK, but it does look amazing #MMBC

    1. There are so many fantastic decorations out now but it's not a great idea to stop mid traffic to snap photos. My favorite is one where the entire house is decorated for the local football team with a huge witch in the front yard. And weirdly they won big the day I snapped it then paid big later when QB broke his collarbone. I would think this would be a natural think for the UK to do with all the clever and creative minds over there.

    1. Good think it was because the fire dept is in the next town over and didn't exactly get there quickly.

    1. Nope, The Ched Curtain is an imaginary line between WI and IL. I wasn't too lost but ended up on a very iffy road with trucks flying by a seemingly low traffic crossing so I don't think I'll go that way any time soon.

  16. The sign makes me laugh cuz it is so true for all the snowbird places too....Happy hour at 3, dinner at 4, bed at 7...I hated it when we first started traveling, but that early bedtime is sadly starting to grow on me )))). Nice Fall color and decorations. But the fire alarm scare? What?...

    1. Dinner at 4 sounds perfect to me but maybe a second dinner at 7 and bed whenever I can fall asleep. When I'm really tired though I have to fight to stay up until 7.
My bet is on my neighbor down the hall starting up her fireplace which is crazy considering I was wearing shorts that day.

  18. Gorgeous fall colors! Glad the fire alarm was only a scare. I'm sure your cat appreciated you bringing him out even if none of your other neighbors brought out their cats. :)
