Cold Grey and Electric Skateboards

I took my new old Canon for a test run yesterday and it felt like the first time I saw winter. Why was I surprised to see people fishing on questionable ice and why did this fisherman isolate himself from all the other lunatics I mean ice fishermen? I also saw my first electric skateboard which I kept hoping would hover. Now that would be a good shot in monochrome or color.

Such a lonely looking scene on Lake Wingra—awww woooo

At Brittingham on the shores of Lake Monona, I kept waiting for her to hover

Across from Warner Park and Lake Mendota, the result of rain, snow, freeze, melt and repeat

  1. Your third photo is amazing! I find it so hard to grasp the realities of really cold winters.

    1. Oh no, the smallest one. I parked across from this yesterday blocking someone's driveway quite taken with this little winter scene. We only had a few weeks of below zero crazy cold temps and all it takes is weather in the high 30s to forget it ever happened. I've been wearing just a hoodie and capri pants the last few days because they talked about 40˚ weather on the local news. Doesn't have to be that warm, they just need to say it will.

  5. Congratulations on being chosen for the Weekend in B&W collection! And thank you for commenting on my photo! You mentioned that you thought mine was taken on a full frame dslr, and surprised that it was an iphone pic! I usually shoot on a Nikon d750 so I was equally surprised that the pic came out as detailed as it was! Thanks again for stopping by and Congrats!!!

    1. I was looking at the D850 and the 750 was on my radar too because of good reviews. I'm not all that happy with my new Canon but I know a lot of that is what's behind the camera, lol.
