Cheers

I might not be the beer drinker I once was, but I still appreciate a good pour and a lively toast so here's hoping the neighborhood fireworks don't keep you up too late, you keep your fingers, hands, and face and the heat doesn't make you too irate.

Here's to a good pour, a back door and a cool floor.

May we get what we want, may we get what we need, but never may we get what we deserve.

May you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows you're dead (for my dad and The Irish Aunts, which would make a great name for a band).

One pitcher for the four of us giving thanks there are no more of us.

  1. "Here's to a good pour, a back door, and a cool floor!" That one I plan to remember. With the annual motorcycle rally cancelled, the police have shored their staff to go after the illegal fireworks. So far, so good. Not as many pre-4th of July works. Yet. Cheers, Jeanna!

  2. Thanks, I was too lazy to look up more than two so did that on the fly. It words for people and pets. No motorcycle rally this year, how come? Well I wish they'd come this way cuz last night just SUCKED and I'm expecting more of the same for the rest of the summer. Hey, Cheers, Susie!

    1. The city has lost money more times than it makes money from this long-time biker rally so this year's council decided enough loss was enough. Many bikers honor our town as the birthplace of the American biker. That Marlon Brando movie about bikers was based on a blown-out of proportion July 4th incident in 1947.

    2. I suppose there's extra police and clean up to consider but that's too bad. Oh really, The Wild One?

    1. Indeed, although I gravitate more toward the liquid sugar myself.

  5. I am not a big beer drinker but since having surgery (gastric by pass) I now have a cleaner liver and I have drank a few beers staying away from the harder stuff. Great pics.

  6. Jeanna, the quotes are cute, but I rather have wine than beer. In Europe are motorcycles, but without the biker community here in the USA.So the biker culture is an American phenomenon:) Thank you for highlighting this on All Seasons and cheers to you on the 4th!

    1. I think there's less calories than in beer but you can cook with both of them. It must be the Irish in me winning out over the Italian side.

  7. If 'My dad and the Irish Aunts' played as well as they toast that band would have a platinum for sure. Too cute. We are loving all the brew pubs that keep sprouting up here in Eugene.

    1. I bet, I remember when it started happening and I still drank, too bad I suffered through so many years of Old Style and Pabst.
