Couch Potato Warrior

It's a good time to be a couch potato what with the local teams winning all last week and the MLB postseason under way.

Pass the cheese balls. You don't mind if I watch the game as I post this?

My compromise is dividing them into plastic bags
I managed to tear myself away for a few hours on Sunday and get some beer tent photos at Oktoberfest.

Using a foam cooler for a plastic cup of beer and drinking through a straw. I've seen this look right before someone hits the floor
The ISO got as cray-cray as the crowd.

They announced a Brewer win from the stage
I didn't know the ISO went that high.

Grainy shots and Mondays always get me down💧It was actually raining all day
According to this article, my camera is ok for low lighting—Brewers left men stranded on the corners—but the one I couldn't afford is the best.

The Elements Reduce Noise filter didn't work on this photo but I like the blast of red
How do you handle low light situations when you don't want to use a flash?

The Badgers and Packers had already won
Ach, Milwaukee, how did you let them load the bases at the top of the 9th?

Dear God don't let the Brewers do what they always do and blow a 2-0 lead in the 9th

With the light outside, match and stage lighting, I just gave up and took the shot.
It's the top of the 10th and looking like that Cub's game on Tuesday

They even had a TV in the bathroom at Wilson's where I watched my cousin watch her team lose
Tied at two. Bottom of the 10th, Colorado must be exhausted.

Umbrella in one hand, leaving the other free for thumbs up and beer
The reason the Brewers are here is in scoring position.

Whoop
Ugh, Braun strikes out, where are those roids when you need them.

A little more help from Shirtless Ed
Yip yip, pitches right to him and Moustakas (0 for 36!) gets a fastball down the middle and Yellich scores. The Brewers take the first game in 10!

  1. I think the photos are darn good, low lighting is tough for us too. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  2. you are so funny! Loved the straw in beer, the bathroom tv watching, the fact that you're recovering but nothing keeps you away from sharing baseball and beer in a tent while it rains and people are shirtless!!

    1. That woman looked waaasssted, yo. What was funny about the bathroom TV is that it was not playing what the other, I'm guessing here, 48 TVs were playing, but matched the one TV that was showing the basketball game.
Hmmm, maybe that's why I'm still sick?

    1. I did kind of blow the theme with Chinese food today but then I only watched baseball recaps and a little college ball.

  5. I agree with Brian up there. You got some great shots. I don't like the photos I get with the flash so I pretty much put my point-and-click camera away when it gets dark. I don't think dividing the cheese balls would keep me from eating a whole of them in one setting.

    1. Thanks, I do hope to do better next time but none of the stuff I researched on how to do that sunk in except try to wait for a spotlight then you can lower the ISO. I've gotten hassled and probably rightly so by flashing a band. Wait, that doesn't sound right. Or does it? It got so high, let me check cuz it was wild...12800. What?
Yeah, the cheese ball thing isn't quite panning out as I envisioned, but at least I got to get rid of the gigantic Utz container without anyone seeing me. Just found out they have a Halloween jar which divides them into even smalerl bags. Can you see about a hundred packs of snack sized bags on the floor?

  6. Great photos, especially for low lighting. I hate using flash anyway.

    1. I don't think these would translate well in print or tolerate much of an enlargement Nikki-ann, but next time will try for a steadier hand and brighter stage lighting. I think the flash would have been too disruptive here, but maybe next time I could use it once if there's a really good shot and I'm close enough.
