Say Cheese! Bucky Link Up

I was a rebellious, spazy nerd as a kid. When I ran away from home I ran away to the library.  So when I saw *"Well Red" Bucky's new scarf this month I was all verklempt because it was made by UW librarians. Here's a photo of Bucky I took last summer.

I'm not that studious, my butt is frozen to these books

I don't know how cheesy Well Red Bucky is but the company that made him has been on my cheesedar for some time. Let's raise a piece of cheese to keeping ceramic statues warm, to the creative talents of the FAST corporation and to librarians everywhere, this Tuesday's Say Cheese! salutes you.

The Rules: The only rule is that there is no Fight Club but please have at least one photo in your post and recipes with cheese, as always, are welcome. So much so that I'd like to re-link Mother of 3's irresistible Cheesy Chicken Chowder in a Bread Bowl entry from last week. Even if you aren't living inside an evil snow globe this is an anytime, go-to recipe.

And now it's time to Say Chowdah! I mean Cheese
A quick note, something weird happened with Google and Lavender Dreamer's blog, please stop by her new space and say, "Hey."

*A pun on Badger colors which are red and white

    1. The sweater is part of the ceramic Bucky Badger statue, Brian. Might I say I like your fur sweater very much and your adorable hind paw slays me.

    1. He's the mascot I grew up with. I was pretty damned surprised when I encountered my first real badger. Bucky looking good at #5 this week. Can't wait for March Madness. I hope you have a wonderful week as well.

  6. I love the library’s mascot (and the pun). Probably a good way to get non-readers in there too! I too loved libraries as a shy child (the word nerd hadn’t been invented yet). I spent hours hanging out in our little Carnegie Library, discovering treasures in the stacks. One time, my mother marched down there to tell them to let me check out any book I could read after I went home in tears because the librarian had told me my books were too grownup for me. I still like libraries a lot. Now I probably read books that are too young for me.

    1. That library always smelled like panic and coffee to me. It stayed open till 3 am when I was there although years later I discovered a "newer" one close by was open all night on weekdays. I don't remember if "nerd" was the word (Nerd, nerd, nerd, nerd is the word.) then but I do remember "spaz." What did they call that Jerry Lewis character, will have to look that one up. I spent hours in the stacks too until I found an article about an ax wielding maniac that terrorized the place.
Yay for mom, with me my sister wouldn't let me check out want I wanted from the Bookmobile and only wanted me to get "baby books."
Haaaa, I also read YA fiction but so what I say.

  11. I ran away to libraries, too. What better place is there to get lost. Well, maybe a bookstore or a record store, but that was for later when I had money. Every freezing statue could use a comfy cozy scarf in its alma mater colors. Cheers, Jeanna!

  12. The Badger is rad! Question about the rules - I guess we can post anything? But for recipes it has to be a cheese recipe? Let me know if it's different, please - and thank you for the linkytool you are using - enough said. Thanks for hosting!

    1. Yes J you are correct and the cheesier the recipe or photo the better. I may have contests for both in the future with very cheesy prices.
