With a few exceptions
Okay, Handsome Bob too
I can't forget my favorite neighbor and the best watchdog I ever met
It's easy to look at the clouds and rain and wind
You would not believe the wind on Lake Mendota last week
I mean it was crazy
It's easy to look at all that and not want to walk out into it, but I know a dog would.
So be a dog. Stay inside when you should, listen to those smarter than you and get outside whenever you can no matter what the weather. All weather eventually changes.
Hello, I love all the your dogs and photos. Hubby and I had two labradors and two goldens retrievers. They have such big hearts, great family dogs. Take care, wishing you a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fantastic combo, Eileen, I once took care of a part golden, part yellow lab and it broke my heart that I couldn't keep him when his owner abandoned him.
DeleteSuch sweet pups! That wind surfing looks a little rough. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteIt was tough just to get out of the car and to the shore, Brian. I think those guys had lots of experience and really strong arms.
DeleteSo cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robert, I love your soldier and horse drawing.
Deletesharing a treat at the soda shoppe... so sweet! That's a lot of wind! Quick! Set up a windmill to offset the cost of power!
ReplyDeleteBob Barker was such a daddy's boy. There is a little wind farm nearby but I'd like to see more.
DeleteWe could all learn a lot from dogs - about love, loyalty, and appreciating those who are kind to us and take care of us. We have to force our dog, who is a senior citizen, to go outside to pee when it's raining!
ReplyDeleteWe certainly could, not to mention eating every last drop of whatever someone made us for dinner without complaints. Well maybe not those little finicky dogs. Ha, senior dogs are special and know a lot about creature comforts.
DeleteDogs do things right. Yes we can learn from our four legged buddies.
ReplyDeleteWe're staying and behaving.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥
I learned that peeing outside is acceptable under the right circumstances. Stay, girl.
DeleteI love getting outside to walk! Love your sweet dogs and I know they keep you on your toes!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly did. I haven't seen Oliver since this began although he smelled me when I dropped something off for my cousins. I heard he went out into the garage and started crying, then ran up and down the driveway looking for me. Sweet and heartbreaking. I miss him a lot.
DeleteGood advice...All weather eventually changes !
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the various dogs in your life...
Sue
Thanks, Sue. I'm actually happier when it's colder and raining and find myself panicking when I see sunshine, go figure.
DeleteThose are some sweet pups, and I bet they LOVE that wind in their face!
ReplyDeleteI love this post, Jeanna. Lots of sweetness and wonder. Yup.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Husband and I first moved in with Mama, I lobbied for a dog. I even went through a period of practicing walking with a pretend dog. Molly was the perfect cat to come into our lives. Her foster mom told us that Molly thought she was a dog.
Thanks, Susie. You may be the first person to use the word, "sweetness" to describe one of my posts, lol. Ahhh, is that why I was instantly drawn to Molly? One of my ex guest cat's commands was, "Be a dog." I bet Mamma loved her too. I can see you pretend walking a dog, that is hilarious, did you have one of those joke leashes with an empty collar?
DeleteI only imagined the leash. I tell you that pretend dog got me up to walking two miles. The good old days. snort
DeleteEven my lazy St. Bernard likes to get outside. He only complains when our walk goes on longer than he would like! :-)
ReplyDeleteHa, and you can't just scoop him up like I do Oliver the Teddy Bear.
DeleteLove the dog photos and your neighbor looks just like my little dog, Hunter! Thanks for linking up and stay well.
ReplyDeleteAwww, SoCo was a Rotty runt and very pretty while willing to lay down her life for you. Same to you and your family, Michelle.
DeleteI've only ever had one dog. A beautiful Staffy (who hated the rain!).
ReplyDeleteHello, Beautiful dogs and photos. They really are man's best friend. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, stay safe! Enjoy your day, happy weekend. PS, thanks for leaving me a comment.
ReplyDeleteOur good friend has always had labs. His newest is coming up on two year old. We went with him to pick up the pup. He was told the parents were small, but most likely not. He's grown into a huge dog with an appetite to match. - Margy
ReplyDeleteHello. Lovely post. Beautiful dogs. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI used to live by very wild seas. I miss them.
ReplyDeleteExcellent dog pics, Jeanna! Also, stunning coast views - and braving the wind (it also looks cold?) Many thanks for going out your (warm) comfort zone to share these with All Seasons! Appreciate your quest for lovely posts images:) Have a great-weather-week, Jesh
ReplyDeleteThanks, J. That's our biggest lake and I've rarely seen it so choppy. I don't remember being too cold, but I welcome cold over heat anyway, must be the Irish and Norwegian in me. It looks pretty nice right now, too nice, I've come to love the rain and clouds over sunshine.
DeleteThose pictures of the wind surfers are awesome! I’m sure they loved it but it looks so scary! I guess I acted like a dog (one with a camera and a mask) when I went fir a walk in the rain Saturday. Compared to what you picture here, it didn’t even count as bad weather, but I felt virtuous when I didn’t turn around.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sallie, it was a lot of fun but a big contrast to what was happening in the parking lot. Ha, you hang in there, OR is so beautiful. I forgot to ask what the plum trees smelled like, my Grandpa had one but I don't remember.
DeleteVery cute dogs! It looked very windy on the lake--perfect for wind sailing!
ReplyDeleteThese two were the only ones I saw attempting something on the lake, Pat and it was hard enough just to walk a few feet, but very exhilarating.
DeleteI'm from Wisconsin also, and I think it would be crazy cold to go wind surfing in April!
ReplyDeleteSuch cuties. Big love to them, Jeanne.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
Jeanna,
ReplyDeleteI've fallen behind this month on replying to comments and doing return visits but I'll catch up soon. I wanted to bring something to your attention, I noticed that your Gravatar profile does not have your blog URL linked to it. You might wish to update that so others can find a way back to you easily. Thanks to your link up on a previous post 4M linky party I was able to come back here today. Anywho, just wanted to know.
Looking at the world through your dog's eyes, now that's interesting perspective. We don't a dog or a cat. In our early years of marriage we did have a kitty but allergies and pregnancy forced us to find a new home for her. Being in isolation for weeks I hadn't thought about it when I gaze out the window that perhaps the way it makes me feel is the way a pet feels when it sees the sun shining in or the blue skies with passing fluffy white clouds or flitting of feathered friends or an occasional critter wondering through the yard. These sights generally make me all giddy, especially seeing blue skies and sun! The photo of the root beer float made me want one. Did Bob get some or was he just an onlooker? :) Wait is Bob the gentleman enjoying the root beer float?
Here it is a brand new month again. Let's hope our world resumes to normal cautiously soon. April was such a strange month. Enjoy the weekend and be well!
