Marginally Lost

I got to do some of my favorite things yesterday, discover a new park, lounge around Paoli, and eat brisket. We (another cousin and I) sat by the smoker for awhile so the celestial smell is still on my clothes which I may never wash again.
We also did one of my least favorite things, get lost. But not seriously and not for long.

Mounds of smoked brisket and brats were handed down from the gods to a smoker in Paoli, WI

Funny, I never noticed this rock formation before

Horses crossing the highway, where are we, Montana?

I asked if she lost the rider and she was not amused

This barn was not here last week

Getting a Planet of the Apes vibe

We were only marginally lost this time and I always find my way back to The Hop Garden

    1. It was so good I didn't give a thought to their divine looking brats.

  2. After being introduced to brisket this last winter, I would like to taste a smoked one! I dread being lost (and I easily do!) Am glad you found your way back. Many thanks for sharing (even, that you got lost, lol) your experiences for All Seasons! That white horse is a beauty! have a great week, Jeanna:):)

    1. Winter is a great time for the introduction but you have better luck getting it fresh off a smoker in the summer. I had a vague notion of where I was, just thought I was on a different hwy.

    1. Thanks for the reminder about Assumption Day, my mother will be interested in that if she doesn't know already. I suppose if were weren't in school, we didn't observe it. Have a lovely, short break, Mascha. It is a catchy tune, isn't it, lol.

  6. You are never truly lost if you can find your way to the Hop Garden (or any similar oasis). We've always liked getting lost, except when we pulled the 5th Wheel...then it was not pleasant (although the few times we did make for some funny stories). That barn aged beautifully in such a short time)).

    1. Or you're never truly lost when pulling your home behind you? I count it as a win since I only thought I was on another hwy. It's actually too close to home for me to admit anything else. You'd think I'd realize something was up when the highway became lousy with horses.

  7. ...dang I wish that I had been there! You certainly find some of the most off-the-wall tunes. Thanks for sharing your sights and sounds of summer. Can we do it again?

    1. I think I'll take the hoptastic over winetastic, Steve. Okay, some brisket and a full pint in a 1/2 pint glass.

  11. Look like fun times. I can eat brisket all day every day. It was a bit weird because my husband didn't like any kind of BBQ meats for a while. Then, one day he started to like them and now, he loves them.

    1. If it's this good, yes. My excuse to go back soon is to tell them they forgot the slaw and pickles on my last order. Unforgivable, haha. One of the few slaws I'll eat. Maybe he didn't go to enough tailgate parties as a youth? He's German, right? Beer and bbq go hand in hand.

  16. Hi Jeanna, it's been weeks since we cooked on the fire & I do miss it. It may have been easier if I hadn't washed our clothes, so hang on to your smokey scented clothes! Lovely photos and the Hop Garden sounds like it has a magnetic like attraction!

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
