New Year Say Cheese! Linky

Happy New Year everyone.
Christmas was enough to take off but I'm back spreading the cheese for the New Year.

CHEESE!
This Christmas will be remembered for my mother giving us winning (three out of four)  scratchers. I won $90 bucks, the most I've ever won unless you count that time my dad rigged a used car drawing.

One of my favorite photos of me and the old man

Here's a picture of middle nephew Christopher with his Christmas scratchers (he won $50 bucks).

My nephew Chris is growing up (and going bald?)

Here's one of my favorite photos of him and his brothers. He didn't like Andy being born on B.J. Surhoff's birthday, a fact he reminded us of repeatedly.

"But it's B.J. Surhoff's birthday!"

Ahhhaaaa, the boys are afraid it's out with the old and in with the new. And now it's time to see your photos or recipes, old or new. Yes, it's time for the Say Cheese! link up.

P.S. Looking at the beach photo on My Corner Of The World's link up inspired me to post a few photos I took this morning with my purse camera. This is the first real snow of the season.

Do you have a lovely photo with well-mannered subjects you're anxious to share? Don't link it here because this is the place for the waggish, unwieldy and unwilling. And as always, for recipes made with cheese. Shouldn't every recipe be made with cheese?
My apologies to the lactose intolerant, all are welcome. It's a bit of a free for all really.

This link-up is open until midnight Friday.

    1. The happiest of New Years to you, Sandee. It's beginning to get scary out there and I don't mean because of the party people. It snowed a bit yesterday, melted, then started to snow again more seriously tonight so it's an icy Slip 'n' Slide out there. It's kind of funny that this is the first real snow of the winter, getting it in just under the ball drop. Ha, I laugh every time I hear that.

  6. You and your dad were great together...nice memories for the year end/beginning. I’m working on my temperamental iPad with temperamental internet connection...we are away from home. My post isn’t toooo cheesy anyway, but I will stop by tomorrow when we get home. Happy Year!

    1. He was a great dad and a lot of laughs. That photo was taken when we lived with my aunt, uncle, three cousins, grandma and grandpa, real old school. The basement fit all the extended family and more. My old iPad is what got me connected to you after those weird security warning messages. I hope you're having fun wherever you are Sallie.

    1. You too, Carol and kisses to Zoe. I had to add these after looking at that beach scene in NZ. I honestly didn't think we'd ever get snow, very hard to walk on and no picnic to drive on but very pretty.

Sure, although finding a photo that's not from the post I'm linking might be a challenge if I only have my link-up to link. Aarrgghh stop saying link. This could make a good drinking game. The Linky Drinky.

  14. Your dad was adorable! That hat is very jaunty! You look like a pair that could cause trouble to spring up. I have a wackadoodle photo on post tomorrow, so I'll come back and link up. If it's not too late that is... I thought we had to include cheese in the picture at first. It can BE cheesy. Or Cheesecake like. Or maybe include a cow.

    1. He was such an Irish stereotype with the drinking, laughing and a gift of gab handed down from St. Pat himself. And he was a cop to boot. I think men wore more hats back then and I kind of miss that. His police hat was magic because he hid candy (Sixlets) in the inside band and made it appear before our very eyes.
This wheel of cheese is open until Friday at midnight, then it turns into a pumpkin or possibly a pumpkin cheesecake.
The idea was for cheesy photos of people or them making faces at you or mugging for the camera. The opposite of a nice posed photo. I love the idea of capturing shots of people or pets giving you the stink eye or the finger or whathaveyou.
Including a cow would get you major points, La, not that I have a point system. Yet. But I might and it will probably involve postcards and cows.

    2. oh, I have the cows... yes... years of cow loving here...lots of weird cow pics! Moo. Okay, I linked up but the linky didn't have the really stupid photo I wanted to show... it's on the post tho. You'll know it when you see it.

  20. I love your snowy photos with that pretty blue peeking through. I seem to be going gaga over shades of blue these days. Did you get something fantastic with your $90? Maybe big luck is still in the air, so I should get me a few scratchers. I have $7 in my wallet. That's a cute photo of you and your old man, by the way. :-)
