Christmas was enough to take off but I'm back spreading the cheese for the New Year.
CHEESE! |
One of my favorite photos of me and the old man |
My nephew Chris is growing up (and going bald?) |
Here's one of my favorite photos of him and his brothers. He didn't like Andy being born on B.J. Surhoff's birthday, a fact he reminded us of repeatedly.
"But it's B.J. Surhoff's birthday!" |
Ahhhaaaa, the boys are afraid it's out with the old and in with the new. And now it's time to see your photos or recipes, old or new. Yes, it's time for the Say Cheese! link up.
P.S. Looking at the beach photo on My Corner Of The World's link up inspired me to post a few photos I took this morning with my purse camera. This is the first real snow of the season.
Do you have a lovely photo with well-mannered subjects you're anxious to share? Don't link it here because this is the place for the waggish, unwieldy and unwilling. And as always, for recipes made with cheese. Shouldn't every recipe be made with cheese?
My apologies to the lactose intolerant, all are welcome. It's a bit of a free for all really.
This link-up is open until midnight Friday.
What great shots of the past. Love this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous day and a very happy and healthy New Year. ♥
The happiest of New Years to you, Sandee. It's beginning to get scary out there and I don't mean because of the party people. It snowed a bit yesterday, melted, then started to snow again more seriously tonight so it's an icy Slip 'n' Slide out there. It's kind of funny that this is the first real snow of the winter, getting it in just under the ball drop. Ha, I laugh every time I hear that.
DeleteHow cool the scratch off tickets were winners and the photo of you with your Pop was a fun one! Happy New Year from all of us!!!
ReplyDeleteNot the kind of scratchers you like Brian but pretty pretty pretty good just the same.
DeleteBeautiful photos. Thanks for hosting and Happy New Year to you.
ReplyDeleteThose camera dogs are making me laugh and shudder at the same time. Just think, spring training starts on February 21st.
DeleteWhat nice photos and some nostalgia I have always liked LQQKING through old family photos still do, my younger brother was the same hardly any photos without him pulling a comical face, he is still the same heheh!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and best wishes for 2019 :-)
I do as well, I may have to fire up the scanners and printer to get more photos on the walls. Let's see those photos, those are the best I think. Happy New Year Steve!
DeleteThe spirit of Christmas is in our old family photos!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, Colleen. Happy New Year to you.
DeleteYou and your dad were great together...nice memories for the year end/beginning. I’m working on my temperamental iPad with temperamental internet connection...we are away from home. My post isn’t toooo cheesy anyway, but I will stop by tomorrow when we get home. Happy Year!
ReplyDeleteHe was a great dad and a lot of laughs. That photo was taken when we lived with my aunt, uncle, three cousins, grandma and grandpa, real old school. The basement fit all the extended family and more. My old iPad is what got me connected to you after those weird security warning messages. I hope you're having fun wherever you are Sallie.
DeleteWhat a delightful post and photos! ~ Lovely wintry photos too ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy New Year ^_^
You too, Carol and kisses to Zoe. I had to add these after looking at that beach scene in NZ. I honestly didn't think we'd ever get snow, very hard to walk on and no picnic to drive on but very pretty.
DeleteLove the Christmas tree
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a Christmas tree even though it came on New Year's, KB.
DeleteHa! Do we even want to know about the used car drawing???! Congrats on the wins. Thanks for linking up to My Corner of the World! I hope your new year brings wonderful things :)
ReplyDeletePerhaps the less said the better, Betty. Oh I know you're in NZ now, but it got me thinking about how December was in Kansas.
DeleteLove these! Especially the one of you with your dad.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
It's one of my all time favs, Amalia and I try to post it somewhere every New Year.
DeleteGratulation. What a nice idea. Wish you a very good New Year!
ReplyDeleteA happy New Year to you and the fur babies, Erica.
Delete🍀🎈🥳😘
DeleteThank you for the shamrock, Slainte.
DeleteThank you for your New Year's wish, Jeanna - that this Year may reach the top of the line, Jeanna! Hope you still stay a part of All Seasons, like the other 4 meme owners:):) (Hope you remember, that the linkup keeps open from Sunday through Friday noon, plenty of time:)) Now, I'm off to my weekly post to send you a link...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I like the sound of that, not too good with heights, J.
DeleteSure, although finding a photo that's not from the post I'm linking might be a challenge if I only have my link-up to link. Aarrgghh stop saying link. This could make a good drinking game. The Linky Drinky.
Hope my previous comment got through? I'll come back tomorrow and check:)
ReplyDeleteI believe it did, although you have two different name links. Aaaahhhh, DRINK.
DeleteYour dad was adorable! That hat is very jaunty! You look like a pair that could cause trouble to spring up. I have a wackadoodle photo on post tomorrow, so I'll come back and link up. If it's not too late that is... I thought we had to include cheese in the picture at first. It can BE cheesy. Or Cheesecake like. Or maybe include a cow.
ReplyDeleteHe was such an Irish stereotype with the drinking, laughing and a gift of gab handed down from St. Pat himself. And he was a cop to boot. I think men wore more hats back then and I kind of miss that. His police hat was magic because he hid candy (Sixlets) in the inside band and made it appear before our very eyes.
DeleteThis wheel of cheese is open until Friday at midnight, then it turns into a pumpkin or possibly a pumpkin cheesecake.
The idea was for cheesy photos of people or them making faces at you or mugging for the camera. The opposite of a nice posed photo. I love the idea of capturing shots of people or pets giving you the stink eye or the finger or whathaveyou.
Including a cow would get you major points, La, not that I have a point system. Yet. But I might and it will probably involve postcards and cows.
oh, I have the cows... yes... years of cow loving here...lots of weird cow pics! Moo. Okay, I linked up but the linky didn't have the really stupid photo I wanted to show... it's on the post tho. You'll know it when you see it.
DeleteLeeAnna
It's gotta be my boy, Milo! I finally put up a few of the "Shitter's Full" pics from the Christmas Vacation display I told you about. I took my good camera out again and of course the battery was dead so more pics from the purse camera.
DeleteLove those old pics and AWESOME job on the scratch offs!
ReplyDelete- Lisa
I know, crazy, I'm not one to win and three of us did win.
DeleteHave a great New Year in 2019!!
ReplyDeleteYou too, yabba dabba doo.
DeleteWho knew that humans had scratchers? I thought they were only for felines. Purrhaps if we scratch hard enough, we'll find money in ours!
ReplyDeletePurrs & Head Bonks,
|Oliver & The Tribe of Five
Hi Oliver, you're such a handsome fellow. I just cashed mine in and although it took me two gas stations to do it they found me $13 more dollars. Scratch away, Oli.
Deleteyou are enjoying your day indeed...Love to see all those photos and wishing you a wonderful 2019!
ReplyDeleteI hope things brighten up in your end of the world, Indah, Happy New Year.
DeleteFeliz año 2019 !!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you, Raquel.
DeleteThose scratch offs are a great idea. I need to do that next Christmas. Thanks for linking up today.
ReplyDeleteThey actually found $13 more bucks when I cashed them in tonight, Michelle.
DeleteLove the pics! Happy New Year to you.
ReplyDeleteHope you all had a good one, Kate.
DeleteI love your snowy photos with that pretty blue peeking through. I seem to be going gaga over shades of blue these days. Did you get something fantastic with your $90? Maybe big luck is still in the air, so I should get me a few scratchers. I have $7 in my wallet. That's a cute photo of you and your old man, by the way. :-)
ReplyDeleteMost of it went to a new router on Monday. Got some KFC, some other food on the fly and have a few bucks left. But when I took the tickets in the guy found $13 more dollars, yeee haa. I may have about $7 or so left now. Thanks, my fav photo of us.
