We had a wrap party last night, no not that kind of wrap party or
this kind either. It was in preparation for a raucous game we tried at the Dempsey Christmas party last year. You use
big balls (ha) of plastic-wrapped treats which someone unwraps while the person to their right rolls dice until they get doubles.

Go Susie go |

The Irish Aunts oversee the proceedings with a wee bit of cheesecake |
|
Danny had a wee bit of cheesecake too |
|
We had more than just batteries and booze. There were five party balls for three different age groups. The elders (us) got two. What happened to party balls anyway? "No Party Balls" was actually written into my lease in the 90s.

Tis herself, Aunt Sara |

Ta da. Cousin Nanci, our host |

Cousin Rusty, our other host, on the hunt for fallen scraps of pizza |

The best camera is the one you have and all I had was my little PNS |
|
Stories were told, delicious food was consumed and balls were wrapped. That's me in the reflection, full of Starbursts and Tootsie Rolls
|

Finally, a good photo of our big balls by Nanci along with the insane hoop hats which I broke while trying to put together. Notice the tape. (That last Big Balls link is a cover sung by chipmunks.)
NOTE: The administrator apologizes for any Bears logos spotted during the reading of this blog. Because despite recent events, the Bears, as always, still suck.

I think we should have both balls going at the same time. I’ll have to ask the bosses what they think!
ReplyDeleteInsanity. I'd like to play Big Balls while we're unwrapping. I see you're still up.
DeleteIt all sound fun and interesting. The wrapping time and also the game time! Merry Christmas to you and love ones in advance!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out to be a lot more fun than I imagined, Nancy. Yes, the wrap party was a blast and kind of nostalgic, like times in grandma's kitchen, the ultimate compliment. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
DeleteChristmas at your place sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to get together with the Irish Aunts.
DeleteIt looks like y'all were having a ball with the big balls! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteDanny, our resident cat didn't bother to check out anything but the cheesecake. I'd love to see what you guys would have done with all those toys and Saran Wrap.
DeleteSounds like everyone had a great time. And pizza too. What's not to like.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥
Yeah, I filled up on candy. But there was cheesecake (the cat checked that out sneaky little demon), pizza, drinks and candy.
DeleteYour Irish aunts are too cute! Looks like a fun time was had by all!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are, Sharon. We lost my Aunt Ginny, the eldest Irish Aunt, close to this time last years. Her photo is on the bottom in the side bar. Cherish what you have when you have it because you could lose it at any time.
Deletelooks like you all had a fun time. Happy Christmas and thank you for stopping by my blog this week.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you Jill!
DeleteNow that's a party! A very Merry Christmas hug to you, Jeanna.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be right at home with us, Susie. A warm and sweet and fun and funny and musical and Susical Christmas to you, chica.
DeleteOMG invite me next time! Please! This is right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteI bet it is and I think you'd also have fun when we march in the St. Paddy's Day parade. Believe me I'd invite you in a heartbeat if you lived here—hell, consider this an invite no matter where you are this March.
