Who was the one Steeler who stood outside the tunnel for the national anthem today—Alejandro Villanueva. Can you tell I'm writing this while watching football? I'm all for freedom of speech but must applaud someone willing to literally stand for what they believe in while everyone else is kneeling or sitting in sweet AC.
It wouldn't be the only time today the Steelers were in the locker room instead of on the field. Enough about politics and football which are one and the same today except to remind everyone that the Bears still suck.
And let me add that if you're foolhardy enough to wear a Bears jersey in Wisconsin the only acceptable number is 34. I'm talking to you, Bears jersey wearing waiter dude who forgot our menus, napkins, silverware and soup at the RodeSide Grill today. Why are you wearing a backup QB jersey anyway?
That's a mighty nice looking bunch of woofies, bet they could move the ball down field!
ReplyDeleteI think the Packers could have used them today considering their Injury Report.
DeleteWhat I think about this whole controversy is that the president of the USA ought to have more important things on his (so-called) mind. Sorry, did you say you wanted to get off politics?
ReplyDeleteIt can't be helped. Did you see that Oprah segment on 60 minutes? Does he have anything on his mind except himself, himself golfing, himself looking for the next trophy wife?
DeleteSorry, but can't help but laugh at dressed up dogs (or any animal!) It used to be in Holland that dogs could be in a restaurant on a leash - haven't kept up if this is still the case. Also, I don't know about the other W-Eur. countries.Thank you Jeanna for showing these beauties with All Seasons! Have a good one:)
ReplyDeleteThey are welcome in this tap room naked or in costume. I think they're welcome at outdoor restaurants here but it's a health code violation to allow non service dogs inside a place that serves food. Aww whooo.
DeleteThe fluffy wearing dogs are so cute
ReplyDeleteWho can resist a dog in a tutu?

DeleteAww! they look cute and happy heheh!
ReplyDeleteHave a wooftastic week :-)
Yes, happier days when living in south central WI wasn't like living on the sun.
DeleteWonderful photos of the 'fur persons' ~ just delightful ~ thanks,
ReplyDelete(A ShutterBug Explores)
They were lots of fun, I love dog friendly places and events. Now if we could only get rid of the dog days of summer and move on to autumn.
DeleteToo adorable!
ReplyDeleteAren't they though?
DeleteYou can send that warm weather right over hear as it is way to cold for my liking. We have moved to Germany and I didn't expect it to be so cold already in Septermber. The dogs are so cute. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost ten degrees cooler today but still muggy so I'll do my best to wish it on Germany. I think the normally cold weather is why there are so many Germans in WI. I'm sure it will drop another 20 degrees by the end of the week though. I love dogs at events.
DeleteWho can resist a bulldog in a tutu?
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to visit a doggie bar with my four legged friend! She is so good too, just will sit underneith a table!
ReplyDeleteCute post! Thanks for sharing!!
- Lisa
I guess it has become a doggie bar, wish I drank so I'd hang out there more. Actually their rootbeer and cream soda are the best. Smooches to your pooch.
DeleteAdorable photos! Love the outfits..
ReplyDeleteI'm actually saving the best for last, matey.
DeleteAwww cute doggos!
ReplyDeleteThey were friendly and very entertaining, Grant.
DeleteNice. I didn't see any Niner colors - LOL.
ReplyDeleteIs that a team, lol? I don't know if the 49ers are on anyone's radar and I can't say I've ever even seen a Niners' jersey except on TV or online. I'm sure anything not Packers would get a certain amount of ridicule (I know, I usually wear Steelers apparel).
DeleteLovely scenes, photo #2 is the geatest.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from the other side of the world
Living in WI there's a lot of old world flavor here, not to mention the many, many Oktoberfests which started weeks ago. Greetings back to you, I hear it's cold there already.
DeleteCool bar if you're a dog lover! Someone better watch out for that chihuahua! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hear that dog likes to party.
DeleteLOL at that beer-drinking chihuahua!! I've never offered our chihuahua beer... wonder if she would enjoy it?? I'd try anything to get her to bark less and mellow out.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin's had a part Chihuahua part Dachshund that drank gin martinis.
DeleteHi Jeanna, we've got to choose our protests carefully as we get older and for totally different reasons than when we are younger! Anyone who is willing to stand for what they believe in will always get applause from me too, regardless of what they are standing for... It's positively chilly here now, we knew when that latest heatwave broke we would notice it. I'm sending you cooling vibes and hope your temperatures start to drop soon!

And there is so much to protest. That guy has since apologized for making his coach and teammates look bad. It's chilly as I write this, but perfect during the day although my mother was wearing a sweater and my hoodie while I was wearing shorts and a sleeveless shirt. Another warm week coming up and the few fall colors I saw were around here a few weeks ago then nothing.
DeleteOooOOoooo I forgot to say, I reckon you live in a doggy fairyland! All the dogs look so happy/ ridiculous (in a fun way) and well loved. Love to see it.
ReplyDeletexx
A lot of dog lovers around here although my neighbor and his two monsters are tres obnoxious. I'd like to see more of them in restaurants and taverns, dogs, not my neighbor and his non stop barking haters.
DeleteWe find the controversy over the Sand/Sit/Kneel confusing (we are outside the USA). We know the USA is a proud nation and however a person wants to show that love and respect is the right way isn't it.
ReplyDeleteWe have many friends in the USA and everyone is a friend we love.
What I think, Dash Kitten, is the first guy who did it had a clear reason. Accusing someone of disrespecting the flag is a cheap and easy way to upset people so they look the other way. Our "president" is under investigation and specializes and in distraction. Although the first protests were as a way to draw attention to the treatment of African Americans by the police, it was turned into another of Trump's sideshows with professional athletes taking the bait and showing everyone that no on can tell them what to do.
