C-

The local news said Wisconsin got a C- in social distancing. I also found grades B through D for the state and an A for Dane County. We no longer deserve a passing grade.

Our governor tried to delay the election yesterday. He also tried to make sure people had more time to vote by absentee ballot. The republican legislature, state and U.S. Supreme Courts blocked his order to postpone.
If only righteous indignation prevented the transmission of COVID-19.

Deaths in Wisconsin are near or have reached 100 depending on who you listen to or when you read this. Governor Evers issued a Safer At Home order on March 24, the above photo was taken at Devil's Lake Sunday.

The state parks are free for the duration and we're encouraged to get outside, but the birds are doing a better job of social distancing than we are.

COVID-19 took John Prine yesterday. The room in this photo looks like the house where my wild child roommate wore a groove in his first album.

Yes, I said, "Album."

One of my cousins posted this video on my timeline this morning and that's where I'd like park my frustration, anger and fear.

Update: They are shutting down the state parks, all the ones I go to, today.

    1. And the madness continues, Brian. The republicans are now using the epidemic to try to cut school spending. You're lucky you're a cat.

    1. It certainly has but I think we're not really aware of what's to come here, Diane. It's good to see you're taking in the flowers and music and the hubby has a sense of humor. Big hugs.

  4. Hello, I am sorry for all the people who were sick at home and could not go outside to vote. I saw on the news some of the lines of people waiting to vote. Thankfully Maryland has mail in voting and absentee voting. Very sad news about John Prine passing, he will be missed. Love the heron and nest photo! Enjoy your day, Stay safe and healthy.

  5. Thank you for the John Prine videos,
Hopefully the young people will finally understand that it won't work until the crisis is over!

    1. I could watch and listen to John Prine all day. If only it were only the younger folks acting the fool, Elkes.

  6. I was surprised to see the voting on the news. Crazy!! Love me some John Prine and was sad to hear of his passing. His song, Paradise, is a favorite of mine as the Green River runs through my area and it is truly paradise. Thanks for linking up and stay well.

    1. As was I especially since the Governor made a decision to stop it. It was crazy and irresponsible and incredibly stupid. Yeah, his music will always take me back to a special time. I'm going to find and listen to Paradise, Michelle, thank you. When I see Green River, I think of soda pop. I wish you and yours the same, my friend.

  8. Great post Jennna - love your capture of the bird next to the nest. Feel for you the way things are going where you live:( You made me laugh (as usual) - I've been "Dr Junieper" since last year! It was after I gave a comment to 2 male chauvinists, who gave me the feeling with their response "What worthwhile can you possibly have to say. You're only a girl." Well, I got miffed and thought, Oh you wanna play that game? I win! and changed my gravator, before I wrote them back. Needless to say, I never heard from them again. But I honestly am a doctor, a psychologist, retired now. No need to treat me different, am only using the Dr if people try to bulldoze me.
Really hope things in your state really will look up soon in your state! Thanks so much for linking at All Seasons - and have a peaceful week!

    1. Thanks, that bit of peace and calm I got from the rookery is gone now thanks to all the fools refusing to social distance or pick up after themselves. It kills me how people can be so clueless. Speaking of which, yes our republican controlled legislature will do anything to try to control the state, including forcing people to chose between putting their lives and others in danger or to vote.
That is ridiculous that anyone would say that to you, maybe they were trolls, but I like Dr. Juniper, it suits you.

  9. Everything in this post made me sad when I first read about it and again now (and I certainly thought about you when we first listened to the news about your election screwup). I don’t know whether Florida or Wisconsin won the race for worst handling of this crisis. .... we saw John Prine in concert once here in Eugene. Good memory .
