Say Cheese! Heron Dancing In The Treetops

I'm trying to get far away from the maddening crowds by going to all the old haunts early in the morning. Although there was someone in a car blasting Nas when I got to the rookery first thing Sunday morning (more on that later), it was a treat.

This heron with a Fu Manchu is dancing in the tree tops. Click on image for a better view

  1. Have you been near where they nest and listen to them talk? It's otherworldly.

    1. I'd call it shouting more than talking, lol. That might have something to do with setting up shop in a parking lot. Yesterday I swear one sounded like a cow. I don't want to spend too much time cutting through underneath their trees to get to where I'm going. You can hear them from a safe distance loud and clear (;

  2. We just had "our heron" show back up in the last week or so and I have really enjoyed watching him walking up and down the shore.
