I was swimming in Devil's Lake when a wet furry thing swam up and pawed me. It turned out to be a black lab named Howie who wondered if I was something to retrieve. We chatted a bit ("Who's a good boy, Howie's a good boy." "Wuff.") then he swam out to mom and paddled away.

Big Rope Little Dog
It's been a tough week so I'll leave you with a few more phone pics. This rope smells like you and you belong to me therefore ...

I thought when Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone in the first quarter of that Viking game in mid-October it was some kind of karmic paymen...

This is hard for me to write not only because I'm broken up about Dexter's owner taking him back soon, but because being a dog perso...
What a wonderful sequence! I'm in awe of the way she stays balanced while Howie has a good shake (and I love that shake!) You must have a good waterproof camera.
ReplyDeleteShe might have been kneeling there. Truth be told, they all went into the brink at one point. Howie preferred to be chauffeured in the end but he was so happy to see his mom.
DeleteHello, it is a great series of photos. The Labs do love the water. Thanks so much for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy day and weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great weekend, Eileen and thanks. I've known a few black labs and most of them were nutso bananas when it came to water.
DeleteFun!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week-end!
Hoping to cool my heels today, but we'll see. Have a good one, Lea.
DeleteGlad that you got the conversation and not the shake.
ReplyDeleteAmalia
xo
Hahaha. Too far for the shake at that point but I did get the paw check when I was swimming, Amalia.
DeleteThat pup gave me quite the chuckle, Nora.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time - nothing like a dip in the water to cool off.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a relatively clean one, Carol.
DeleteAmazing little story, amd good photos to accompany it.
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Gordon.
Cheers, Gordon.
DeleteA girl and her dog, is to me similar to a girl and her horse:) (Two of my grands were smitten about horses when they were little). You asked about the statue I posted. It's called Searchng for Utopia. You can read about Jan Fabre, a Belgian artist in Wikipedia. You can skip it though, am not very impressed about what I read. Assumed it was a Dutch artist, so I didn't do any research before hand, - of course now I wished I did!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the fun with your water loving doggie with All Seasons, and have a fun water week:) Thank you again for letting me know about the comment section - that helped a lot - because I don't want people to stay away because of that.
I've had problems with my comments as well where someone says they have to go through all that image verification stuff and as many times as I've made sure it's not active, it stays on for this person. Don't let that stop you from posting all we can do is check it and try to make it easy for people. Very interesting statue and the image is kind of stuck in my mind. I'll check out Jan Fabre, thanks. I wish Dexter could swim!
Deletelove those images. So fun. I have tried it once with limited succes :)
ReplyDeleteMy knees wouldn't put up with that nonsense anymore I'm afraid. It's great that you tried it.
DeleteOh my...this is such a heart warming series of images! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteFun, fun, fun! I'd like to try paddle boarding, as long as I can do it all standing. My knees no longer bend. I'm already laughing imagining myself trying to get up to a standing position in the middle of the water.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like Howie is living the good life!
ReplyDeleteI bet that was a fun day! I love the paddle boat. Your dog looks like it can't get enough of it too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanna for your effort to link up to All Seasons - I appreciate it and sorry for the inconvenience! To answer your question, across the board, no one was able to link up. Wrote the owner an hour ago, to see what the cause might have been, so I'm prepared in time for next week Sunday! No, am still melting with 97 degrees today in Sacramento, and 91 in the mountains! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe latest, Jeanna! Guess what? The owner of the Linky list fixed the link by 9:15 Sunday night. If you still like to add your photo to the linky list of this week, you are very welcome! Good night for now:)
