If June is Dairy Month (it is) then August is Sweet Corn Month. Although I've gotten plenty of sweet corn in the last few weeks it isn't enough and the grocery store selection is picked over and pathetic. My last post was about my mother and I getting lost while looking for a corn stand. The best place for sweet corn was closed for "ripening" (although they had signs along the road) so we went wandering south in the hopes of finding fresh-that-day sweet corn. We didn't, we got meat and ice cream instead.
Let the sweet corn consumption commence with the quality of corn rising. The Quality of Corn Rising would make a great name for a band.
