Rainy Days and Tuesdays

I should stop looking at thermometers because it's rarely good news. It was rainy and hot all day, settling in my upstairs loft apartment where I'm refusing to turn on the AC out of principal. Keep in mind we saw a snow pile on Sunday. I read 84, my cousin said, "81," and the weather guy said," 78˚."
It eventually stopped raining so things got nice and humid and all the mosquitoes were reminded why they love living here. I celebrated by eating cashew chicken near the shores of Lake Mendota while taking a few shots with my Lumix.

Bzzz, bzz nice day for breeding. Bzz bzz bzz, enjoy your last days on earth, do I smell cashew chicken?

  1. I think if you were doing the color photo, it was cheerful!
And no ... I do not smell cashew chicken, smell ... that the rain comes! LOL

    1. It might have been cheerful, but we've had so much rain I think the monochrome fit well and black and white can take a lousy photo from a cheap camera and make it look good, ha. I had cashew chicken again yesterday!

    1. Ha, my baby boy did too Brian so you're in good company. I hope the dad gives you a chicken treat from time to time.

  3. Snow to in the 80s in the blink of an eye. Wow. We've not been that warm yet. I'm not looking forward to the mosquitoes either.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

    1. I'm sooooo friggin' hot now, Sandee. One guy I met on the River Road said he had been shoveling 17 inches of snow not too long ago near the Twin Cities but it hadn't got up to 80 yet. Meanwhile, down south here in the Ishtmus, I'm all set to get my second summer haircut.

  4. your weather sounds as changeable as ours. It's currently deciding whether it's winter or summer, we have no idea what happened to spring. Cashew chicken by the edge of a lake sounds divine.

    1. Hey RB, I couldn't find a link to your site so holler back at me sometime and I'll stop by if you have a spot. Yeah, warm in Feb, snow storms in late April and then boom, summer. I miss spring, it's my fav month and I want it back!

  5. Nice shot. Simple but it tells a great story.

    1. The story is there's decent Chinese take out close-by and sometimes I'm too hungry to wait to get it home (;

  6. Looks cold! After having two weeks of lovely warm weather, the temps have dropped down again. At least it is sunny though again.

    1. Oh boy, I was just telling someone my cousin didn't bring enough warm clothes to go outside in Milwaukee while I was four-and-a-half hours north of there in a tank top and shorts.

    1. Yeah and I had some Saturday that didn't compare to this. And then yesterday I got a roast chicken. It's a case of chicken on the brain.

  8. Hi Jeanna, don't resort to the AC so early in the summer. Hang in there! We don't have air con at home, and it does get bloody hot, but when we go outside it doesn't feel hotter than it actually is, so there is method in our madness. The mosquitoes here are in their element too, pesky things.

Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.

    1. That air conditioned boat has sailed, Debbie. It's been 80˚ enough to know we aren't going to get a spring and smoke 'em if you got 'em. I'm sure the skeeters will be along momentarily and are already in the grassy areas and wetlands, but they haven't made it to the second floor yet so that's something.
