I find this especially true with the upcoming holiday aka your neighbors will be shooting off fireworks at 2 am starting this weekend until sometime after Labor Day.

Cacophony (In Black and White)
One person's delight is another person's, "Shuddup!"

Surprise Sunset
I don't remember seeing any kind of sunlight last week so imagine my surprise when I looked up from my drink (Sprecher Cream Soda) and saw this.

Pizza Boxes and Mom
I couldn't leave little cuz with that hilarious monochrome scowl on his face so here are a few a follow-up photos taken shortly after.
We were all happy the Wisconsin Brewing Co. allows carry-ins and deliveries and someone ordered a buttload of pizza (I think it's three 14 inch pies to a buttload).
Personally, I'm in it for the music, babies and cream soda. (Seriously delectable soda, I even wrote them about it.)

What Do You Think Of All This Rain, Little Guy?
The clouds hung around today but it finally stopped raining unless you count some sprinkles on the way home from an evening with my cousins and The Jimmys.
Coincidentally, sprinkles are also called, "Jimmies."
Holding out for sprinkles |

Summer Temporarily Closed
I took a break from cleaning the storage area under the stairs—think Harry Potter without the door—to go outside yesterday.
The "Temporarily" part raises some questions.
One of my favorite beaches used to be a parking lot so I can't take the word, "Temporarily" too seriously.
I ended up near my old stomping grounds after getting stuck in an emergency vehicle jam then spit out shaken not stirred.
There were signs of flooding everywhere with mosquitos large enough to carry away bicyclists. I can't imagine what it looks like up north except I can because here are some photos.

Early Mid-Week Medley
It's been raining, raining, raining and I've stayed inside cleaning, cleaning, cleaning which is dull, dull, dull.
So without further adieu, here's a Dang-Its Trio medley followed by a sizzling (now I'm hungry) Madison Area Music Awards appearance. (Will be taking in The Jimmys, winner of three 2017 MAMAs—ha—soon. Does that count as "further adieu?")
Happy Tuesday, y'all!

P.S. (yet another adieu) Thanks to Darren from Photalife for reminding me that Portrait mode exists.

Gerriatric Gigolo aka Dance With Me
He was dragging babes to the dance floor while an aging blonde swayed to every song. I found the whole thing touching and amusing.
I got a being held hostage, Gomez Adams, Penny Lane vibe off these three |
So, black socks and shorts have come back around then
Thanks for making me think of Leonard Cohen and leading me to this song today, Kwarkito.

It Sounds Like Summer, Dang It
The free concert series down the way opened with the toe-tapping Dang-Its early Monday night.
The mostly country foursome filled the pre-twilight air with classic country, a bit of blues and a rippling of folk. I seemed to have misplaced the steel guitarist.
Ah, there he is. It looked like rain with an unfriendly glare behind the band at the Warner Park shelter. And finding good lighting was difficult due to my reluctance to get out of my chair (except to take the photo below).
The kid is watching canine theater while granny has doubts about the little Shih Poo.
Meet Bruno and his dance partner. Who's a big ol' bruiser, who is?
The senior centric crowd sang along while the smell of brats beckoned. Mmm, can you smell them? I didn't take any photos because I was in my chair, remember.

And some of us got tired before the sun went down.

Jellyfish
I took my mother for a check-up and couldn't remember the word, "jellyfish" while we were looking at the waiting room fish tank.
This kid happily walked up to the tank and told us it what it was.
Coincidentally they gave my mother a memory test and let's just say she got impatient with their questions. It did not end well for the residents but gave me a larf.

Legs
Although I was late to the bloomin' party, blossoms piled like snowflakes at the Longenecker Gardens. And out of the light appeared this skinny pair of guy legs.

A Little Tipsy
I expected this shed to slide into the water while dining at the Anchor in Newville today. The Anchor is on the Rock River with tempting steak sandwiches and burgers with respectable curds and an ab fab view.
Wheeee, splash |
This Naughty Mermaid was a little too naughty so I pasted on a basket of delicious cheese curds |
A beer called, "Foggy Geezer" by Warpigs Brewing was pretty intriguing |

Mandatory Glass Building Photo
Although I gave up caffeine (many times) and coffee doesn't like me I still want one when I see it. There's something about Monday morning and watching someone drink from a coffee cup that triggers my bean brain. Good thing I found out ice cream also wakes me up. I think it wakes me up so I can have more ice cream.
She probably spends $50 bucks a week on coffee which explains the tupperware |
It might taste like bone, liver and butt, but Frosty Paws is Bob's Starbucks |

Oil Change
One of my favorite quick stops along the back way to Devil's Lake is the bottom of a private driveway loaded with gas station memorabilia. I guess the people who own them like the way they look and so do I.
