Say Cheese! Bird (Photo and Recipe Link Up)

Cheese bird?

Anyone home?

Talk to the tail

Yes?

Cheesy what now?

Cheesy Bird Recipe (no offense)

Ingredients:
3 chicken breasts cut in cubes
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
5  mushrooms, mixed, brushed and thickly sliced
2 tomatoes, peeled and cut in cubes
1 red bell pepper (cubanelle preferred), cut in cubes
Salt
Pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
Garnish:
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese (or Kasar Cheese)
1/2 teaspoon red pepper (Turkish, powder or to taste)

Directions:
Saute onion with butter and olive oil in a medium saucepan
Add garlic
Add chicken when you can smell the garlic
Cook the chicken until the color changes
Add mushrooms, tomatoes, cubanelle pepper (or red bell), salt and pepper.
Simmer for about 15 minutes, covered
Preheat oven to 400 (200 C)
Turn the heat off and sprinkle with oregano
Transfer to an oven proof dish and sprinkle shredded cheese and red pepper on top
Bake until cheese melts, serve with Turkish Pilaf (or rice or pasta)

🧀I'm going to use less butter and cheese which I believe is a crime or at least a misdemeanor in WI

Disclaimer: No birds were harmed, sauteed or baked in the posting of this recipe

  8. Hope a Cheese-colored sunrise is OK? )). Yep, I see that cheese bird. The recipe sounds good. Do you actually know what a cubanelle pepper is? (I will check with Ms Google, but would probably just use a sweet red pepper anyway.

  16. Yummmm. I've cooked a similar dish without the cheese. The more garlic, the yummier.
