One person starts unwrapping the thing as the person to their right rolls the dice.
You have to roll doubles to get your turn and the longer it takes, the longer the greedy cousin to your left gets to unwrap the candy, booze and baubles that fall out. In our version you also have to wear a Santa hat which is what trips me up.
It gets pretty raucous and sometimes a sneaky cousin I won't mention any names, Lis, writes their name on booze bottles so even if you get a prize someone might snatch it away.
We made six big balls Sunday afternoon, the ones marked with an "A" stand for "adult" but could also stand for a few other things, use your imagination.
We did this while the Packer game was on in the other room. That was unusual for some of the more rabid fans who enjoy yelling at the TV more than they enjoy wrapping then unwrapping mammoth balls of plastic. But we talked, we noshed, we laughed and we wrapped.

And now it's time to wrap your head around the global phenom that is SAY CHEESE! and show everyone what you've been up to lately. Recipes with cheese are always welcome.
P.S. Let me know if you made a Christmas card to copy and paste and I'll put it in the sidebar.

You and your family have the best kind of fun, Jeanna. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell the Irish side is all about fun, Susie.
DeleteMy family just started playing this game a few years ago on Christmas eve; my sister makes up two balls- one for the kids and one for adults. It is a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun and that surprised when I heard what they had in mind.
DeleteThere was wine and that's all I care about. Just kidding. What a fun day you had.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week. ♥
Yes, Eagle Eyes, there was wine (: Of course now that I'm semi healthy I had to read the ingredients aloud to every one. It was a kind with lots of sugar. I'm such a downer sometimes, lol.
DeleteSounds like almost as much fun getting ready for the party as it will be having it. That’s a different and fun idea.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's like a post party only before instead of after. My cousin Nanci excels as finding these kind of things.
DeleteA game like this can only bring lots of fun and laughter. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteIt does and gets pretty loud to boot. You have a good one as well...it's Thursday, right?
DeleteOh what fun had me smiling as i was reading along with it and seeing the photos :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wraptastic week :-)
I like that "wraptastic" rhymes with "craptastic."
DeleteThat's a pretty fun game! I tried Saran Wrap once but thought it was too chewy!
ReplyDeleteHa, stay away from that stuff, Brian, or at least rip it to shreds not chew it.
DeleteThat sounds like it could be fun...and sounds like you had fun making the wraps.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's always fun to sit and chat and nosh with the Irish aunts and cousins.
DeleteI have never seen this game, it looks like everyone had a great time!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
It's simple but fun, Karen, I think you'd enjoy it. Merry Christmas to you too!
DeleteWhat a fun game. Loved the narration and pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks my talented friend.
DeleteLOL, the best of times with great company! Have a great holiday season Jeanna.
DeleteHi C & C, here's hoping your Christmas season is generous and full of kindness and love.
DeleteSuch fun!
ReplyDeleteI hope to get some photos in during the game this year, LF.
DeleteWill all 3 balls be going at the same time? It was crazy enough last year with 2!
ReplyDeleteOMG who knows, maybe we can play it three different times. BD (Before Drinking) DD (During Drinking) and SMU (Sober Me Up).
DeleteOMG that looks like so much fun... can I come over and play too? I'm looking at these fine persimmons and wondering what I'll do with them. It's not often I meet a food I haven't tried! LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteYes, yes you may, LA. The Irish side of the family is always up for a good time and the more the merrier. I was supposed to make my cookies today but I'm not sure they're quite ripe enough to scoop out the innards. I may do the oven drying thing first, there are some very doable recipes online for that and I imagine the smell is divine. I wonder if roasted chestnuts and persimmons are a good pairing?
DeleteIt looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for hosting. Wishing you a wonderful time with family and friends this holiday.
ReplyDeleteAnd you as well, Christina.
DeleteLooks like you all had a lot of fun making this! Great results! Again, sorry for the embarrassing mistake I made at your All Seasons post! Maybe I'm getting too old, haha! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOh psssshh, J., I know what you meant.
DeleteI had fun reading this and seeing the photos.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weds, Jeanna!
As did I taking a trip to a Malaysian mall, Veronica.
DeleteThat is so very cool. Love it. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteHi Patrick, it gets the blood pumping that's for sure. I hope things are warm in temperature and spirit for you down there, thanks for all the wonderful photos.
DeleteSounds like a fun game, and sounds like it can get pretty fun when playing. Merry Christmas. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how much more you enjoy trinkets that you win than if you buy them, Peabea.
DeleteThat sounds like a fun way to spend the day and even more to play :)
ReplyDeleteIt's terrific to see you at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
My Corner of the World
Jeanna,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like y'all had a whole lot of fun and that's all that matters. :) Have a joyful Christmas season!
That looks like fun. Thanks for sharing ππ♀️π
ReplyDeleteSeems like loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you can reuse the wrap in future games. - Margy
