The Hey Johnny Say Cheese! Link Up

I love street photography and don't do nearly enough of it. Here's one of my favorites from last week. It could be sharper, but love the 'tude.

"Hey, Johnny, what are you rebelling against?"

I tried to get people on Facebook to answer with the famous quote below.

I failed. But a friend did use an Oingo Boingo reference which is another kind of cool.

Whether you're only a lad or a wild one, why not roll up and SAY CHEESE!

  3. Hi Jeanna! You did a fantastic capture! You didn't just show the boy's movement but also the fierce expression on his face! Love it! Have a great new week my friend! Hugs from the Philippines!

    1. Thank you, SQ, I was using my Pandemic Camera, lol. It's lighter and older and doesn't take great photos, but has a telephoto lens I leave on. Hugs back to you, Stevenson. The expression is most of what I try to capture.

    1. It rained and snowed then rained some more, but I'm loving that kind of weather more and more. It sounds like you had a nice run/hike.

    1. Wish I'd gotten a clearer shot, ah well, another expense or another year. I did not enjoy it in the least, but the weather was fun (snow, rain, snain, sleet and more snow then it rained for a change).

  11. Great spot ... Yeah, he’s definitely got attitude ,., did he see you take the photo? I once had a man yell in my face and tell not to take his picture. Funny thing is, I wasn’t even trying to ... was it my fault he was standing behind the market stall produce I was trying to shoot? Anyway, if I could get the kind of street photos you do, I’d take more of them even if I did get yelled at!

    1. Oh for sure I get yelled at, chased out of a store once, almost always some dirty and threatening looks, but that's all part of it. I even got "told off" by what I'm guessing was a pre-law student for taking photos of ice cream she and her friends were eating at a social media event. We had a "discussion" about how she was in a public pplace at an event that encouraged photos. She was showing off to her friends (who looked embarrassed). I try to balance the best shot with being discreet with asking permission which of course may ruin the spontaneity.

    2. Oh yeah, he saw me take the photo, lol, hence the 'tude.

  12. You definitely have a talent for street photography, and catching unusual images! Like the first and the last one. Poor kid, with open mouth - he probably didn't expect to be called out about his skateboarding! Maybe he thought, I better get home, the streets are not safe today!

    1. Thank you, J. He was doing some cool tricks, but I wasn't quick enough to catch them. I thought I had gotten him jumping and flying through the air, but those shots didn't turn out. I saw another young man on a skateboard and one on a scooter, all three were about the same age. I wish I was coordinated like that.

  13. Great capture, Jeanna! Love that 'tude! It's the age, you see. (I have a teen at home, so...)

Happy #ww, Jeanna. Stay safe and have a great week.:)

    Have a great week ahead.

  15. Did you know that The Wild One was based on a real event that happened in our town of Hollister? When the stars align the city holds a biker rally on the 4th of July weekend to commemorate the event. Vrrooomm, vrrrom. The bar that a biker drove through is still around.

    1. I did not know that, how very, very cool. Have you ever gone, is it rowdy, is there a plaque on the bar or something?
