I still watch Laugh-In from time to time and wonder why nobody throws parties like that anymore. I also wonder how much Tiny Tim influenced Marilyn Manson.
Tip Toe Through the Coma White Tulips?
We've got the Arboretum lilacs and Capitol tulips blooming now, but no sign of Tiny Tim.
There was a passel of photographers getting what I assume were much better shots than mine buzzing around the pink flowers, but I was drawn to the flaming tulips on the Pickney side.
And of course, the Bucky Badger red and whites must be acknowledged.
"F*$k 'em, Bucky!"
"F*$k 'em, Bucky!"
And now from beautiful downtown Burbank.
So fun!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love fall, it's the most lively time of the year, Tamar.
Delete...thanks for this stroll down memory lane. Tiny Tim, what a hoot! How great is this!
ReplyDeleteHe was quite the big deal once upon a time.
DeleteLove all these makros of tulips (me being Dutch!). I missed your cheerfulness, blog friend!! Hope you have been okay? Hope to see you back at All Seasons before Wednesday night (7pm, Pacific time).
ReplyDeleteThe guy trying to get the best shot of the toddler cracks me up:)
Yeah, I suppose you do, JSG! I got a little too tired and busy before I really got swamped. Swimming and paperwork. Taxes, a baby shower for my godson's wife (another shower the next day) and trying to swim almost every day. Showers are over, taxes done and took a little rest for my birthday week so back at it again.
DeleteHow you doin'?
Ahh, you already did! I just had not come that far with the comments on All Seasons when I saw your thumbnail at Randomosity!!
ReplyDeleteReally, am happy you're back!
Cute shots of the child and such lovely tulips too!
ReplyDeleteThat kid was hilarious, LF.
DeleteNice post love the photos and the toddler made me laugh haha!
ReplyDeleteI remember Tiny Tim he was quite popular here at the time haven't seen this for years heheh!
Have a tiptoetastic week :-)
He had his five minutes and more, Steve.

My mother and I got a good laugh.
DeleteHi Jeanna, what beautiful tulips! The Flaming tulips are beautiful and even the less stunning Bucky Badger look pretty dotted around.
ReplyDeletexx
The red and white ones are the school's colors so I think they're fun but I agree, the flaming tulips are the most impressive.
DeleteThanks for your comment:)No idea you had a Norwegian heritage - so am curious about the Norwegian festival in May!
ReplyDeleteLots of Norskes and Swedes in WI and MN. Syttende Mai kicks off the festival season and is held in a Nowegian town. Often people don't just say, "I'm going to Stoughton" they say, "I'm going to Stoughton, yah hey."
DeleteThere's an old joke that goes, "What do you get when you cross lutefisk with a tab of acid?"
Answer, "A trip to Stoughton."
I love that 3rd picture - the expression is fantastic, great capture! The tulips are gorgeous - one of my favourite flowers.
ReplyDeleteThe little one was a hoot and dad was having a time of it catching up.
DeleteBeautiful tulips. Mine have been and gone now
ReplyDeleteMollyx
We've had some cold and rain so everything is a bit behind here but I don't mind. I actually love it.
DeleteMarvellous tulips and what a lovely funny scene with the little boy!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from far and cold Germany
Thanks, Mascha, those yellow tulips and the way you captured the light, wow, lovely. That kid gave us a good laugh.
DeleteThanks, one of your posts has made me hungry for peaches. Must have peaches.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, right back atcha, KR.
DeleteI remember Laugh In of course (but I was already middle aged probably compared to you), me being more in the age-range of your Aunt Ginny (but not nearly as charming). Adore the tulips ... I remember them, I miss them. They're always gone by the time we get back to Oregon and they don't grow here at all.
ReplyDeleteI think you've got a lot more going on down there than tulips my friend. I'm always amazed by your bird photos. I wasn't allowed to watch TV on school nights so I hid in the coat closet and watched from there and Laugh-In topped my list. Although they may have let me watch Batman years before that because there was a time there when it was hotter than Game of Thrones for 6-10-year olds. Yes, Laugh-In and Bewitched were my tween staples. I'm sure you're every bit as charming as Aunt VA, you certainly have her energy.
