Looking For Flapjacks

The Broadway Diner in Boo screams pancakes. Well, not literally, but wouldn't that be fun?
Remember, they've got "Gourmet hash in a flash," information we could have used in the seventies.

  1. Diners can have some of the best food. I so remember.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

  2. They've always been my favorite, Sandee. My dad had one when I was young and you can take the girl out of the diner, etc.

  3. I do love a good old-fashioned diner, whether it's when we've been on holiday in the US or even in the UK where there are a few authentic 1950s style ones. Simple, straightforward food but it's the surroundings that really make it.

    1. I do too, Tim, and much to the chagrin of some, prefer them to fancier dining. I've found the less shiny ones are the best, although there's a pretty nice one which has never disappointed. It has the best pies!

    1. I think there's a kitty cafe here but I'm waiting for a cats welcome diner, Brian. "Corned Beef and Cats?" "Furtada's?" "Flapjacks and Whiskers?"

  5. Hi Jeanna, can you just imagine how busy the place would be if it did actually scream "pancakes"?That would tickle me too. Love the black and white.

    1. Like the Shrieking Shack in Harry Potter (: I wasn't happy until I got pancakes today, so I can look at this picture without getting hungry (for now).

    1. I wish there was some crazy short order cook screaming things over a PA system you could hear outside, Ella. I'll let you know if that happens and pick you up at the airport. I'll give him a kiss right now, his daddy finally got back to me this afternoon and said he's leaving for NY this Thursday.

    1. Haa, well it would be "gourmet" and he'd have it in a flash, Sallie.

  9. Your angles of the sign remind me of the Sears building on Geary Blvd. in San Francisco. Maybe it's the curly-que font. Sears had a diner but I don't recall ever eating there. I miss eating breakfast at a good diner.

    1. Thanks, I used to shoot a lot of b&w back in the day because I developed my own film and now I have a whole new appreciation for it.

    1. I may have to stop by soon to see if they know what a short stack is. They used to have an excellent candy shop and one of the last true soda fountains complete with soda jerk on the square a few blocks from here.

  13. There is actually a town called Boo? (Chuckle) Wow, I read your dad has a diner? So did you grew with that?I actually do not know anyone whose close family members have some kind of restaurant! Great to have the sign added to All Seasons! It's a world I know nothing about:)
Before I forget, thank you for your comment about the college town:) I only lived in college towns only during my undergraduate work. During my psy. training I lived further away and had 3 kids, which was my salvation, because I didn't have the time to become hyper stressed with school work, lol.

    1. Ha, it's really Baraboo, J., but those of us in the know call it, "Boo" which is really fun when referring to the college as, "Boo U."
Yes, he did when I was young, it was across from a big high school on the east side. He didn't have it my whole childhood, I really wish he had but my grandparents had an Italian restaurant which my uncles took over when they passed. Another uncle and later his son also had Italian restaurants and a pizzeria.
Well I suppose that's one way to look at it, J. and a pretty positive way at that.
