My mother wanted me to take her for a drive today to help take my mind off of losing Dexter. The place still feels as if he's here and I catch myself looking for him. Then everything feels so empty. Geez, just did it again (but it was my camera case).
Meanwhile, we saw some wild violets in the front yard of this Lake Mills bed and breakfast today and it's our first flower sighting of the spring.

I'm sorry that he took Dexter with him!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you will be able to adopt a kitten that looks like Dexter and be just your own!
I am happy for you that the Spring has finally come!
Big hug!
I still can't believe he did, Ella. I'm dealing with it by a whirlwind bout of spring cleaning. I think if I get some more money coming in and maybe if I find a less expensive place to live I'll adopt a cat in need, but it's too soon and all too much for me right now.
DeleteYou won't believe the temp right now. Go ahead, guess. 80˚! I'm thinking of turning the AC on and am about to order a new fan.
I absolutely know Dexter misses you too, you've been his happy life. Hugs from all of us.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brian, although I want him to I hope that he doesn't, you know what I mean?
DeleteHugs back to the gang and an extra schmooch for Zoe.
I'm so sorry that Dexter is gone. I know how attached you were to him. He's probably feeling the loss as well.
ReplyDeleteBig healing hugs. ♥
Thanks, Sandee, I feel as if I lost a person. I don't want him to feel any loss and that's a big part of what I'm sad about. And so it goes.
DeleteIn other news, I picked the first 80˚ day in a long time to catch up on my comments and blog buddies. Yes, we just had a snow storm on the 18th.
I am so sorry. Violets are a sign of hope.
ReplyDeleteWe were delighted to see them.
DeleteSometimes I think I see Molly sitting down the hall, walking into the office, or sashaying cross the room. Nothing. The Husband says that happens to him too. We figure she's having as astral walk while she's sleeping somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThat's touching and they really do sashay, don't they? She probably is having an astral jaunt, sweet Molly. I'm so used to keeping him on schedule that my internal clock is still set on making sure he gets his dinner, snacks, brushing, and playtime as close to the same time everyday as possible. I hear him and it's nothing or see him and it's a pile of clothes or feel him jumping on the bed and it's the wind or creaking bed springs.
