I had a hankering for diner food yesterday and
the Pine Cone has a restaurant on Stoughton Road right next to Token Creek County Park. There was a new batch of young waitresses working and that's rarely good.
You want a career waitress named Bev who calls you, "Hon" not someone who doesn't know the difference between a short stack and silver dollar pancakes.
|
"Anyone know what a short stack is? And how do I use this ink stick?" |
|
I find diner grape juice irresistible |
|
Not a short stack |
|
Just before I was told to stop. taking. pictures. Look at the size of that BLT |
I'd love to have that BLT. One of my favorite sandwiches.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ♥
Yeah I wish I would have gotten that when it came out, haha.
DeleteFood looks great - I'm ready to chow down!
ReplyDeleteGood thing I just ate or I'd be using your pancake recipe for dinner tonight, Carol.
DeleteLove pancakes but my eyes went to the bacon sandwich....love it even more!
ReplyDeleteMe too when I saw it, Pam!
DeleteThe BLT for me hope there was some left for me heheh!
ReplyDeleteThat grape juice looked good too :-)
Have a dinertastic week :-)
You have great taste, Steve. Have a baconic week. I have no idea what that means (:
DeleteThe sandwich must have been gorgeous ... yummy, yummy!!!
ReplyDeleteTell me baby, are you that on the last photo or is it your mother? I hope I do not make a blunder! :))
Have a nice week, girl! Hugs!
It was a monster and my mother could only eat half which was still a feat. Ha, that's my almost 93-year-old mother but she's in better shape than me! You too, my friend, this is going to be a very difficult one. I'm trying to get a time for my cousin to pick up Dexter between typing this.
DeleteDid he really take Dexter with him?
DeleteStay strong girl ... Hugs!
Ella, he is taking him tomorrow and I can't think of anything else to say to persuade him not to. I've been a stupid wreck for the last few days and not sure how I'll get through it tmw morning. Thanks for the thoughts.
DeleteThere is something about diner food!
ReplyDeleteThe comfort, the price and the service.
DeleteWow - looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteNothing could be finer than eating in a diner in the mor or or ning.
DeleteI totally love grape juice and that BLT looks incredible!
ReplyDeleteI know, I had to get a Reuben today to beat it, lol. I guess we never grow out of loving grape juice.
DeleteThat BLT looks impressive, but I'm more attracted to the grape juice, how delicious that looks.

I only wanted the BLT cuz I ordered pancakes (: Yeah, I was always fascinated with the grape juice machines as a kid.
DeleteWowza! I want a BLT sandwich like that. The bacon glistens so invitingly.
ReplyDeleteYou should see their cream puffs, Susie. Yeah I guess it does glisten, lol.
DeleteI get told to stop taking pictures too! Looks yummy :)
ReplyDeleteI took a real sneaky one of her through the car window yesterday, hee hee.
DeleteWow, what an amazing BLT, but you got me at the grape juice...now I want to travel to Wisconsin to try some, but I would not be happy if one of those brand-new waitresses gave me wine instead.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this post!

Yeah, I remember watching grape juice spray happily over those old fashioned juice machines and I knew I was hooked. It looked so pure and cold and grapey. Ha, never trust a twenty something working at a diner I say.
DeleteWill you.please. Stop.making.me.hungry. Do I have the voice as well as the hair color of your mom? Good!
ReplyDeleteHa, I know my sister and I sound alike, but don't really think my mother and I have the same voice. She is a writer though but her writing voice and mine are night and day too. Nope, I've got plenty of white hairs popping through but I've got light brown hair and it's always been curlier than hers. I didn't photograph the tremendous triple cheese burger I had today when we hit the Lake Mills Culvers.
DeleteHi Jeanna, how you got that photo of unexperienced waitress I don't know, but nuce one *evil laugh*. It's nice to see you airiung out your Mum again, but I need to know... Did she polish off that whole sandwich or did the sandwich get the better of her?... I have no idea what a short stack of pancakes is but I'm guessing a dinky pile. Do you really eat bacon with pancakes dolloped with ice cream?... Interesting...
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.
xx
Ha, I did get lucky with that one, I guess you never know when someone will be mad or glad or just tolerate one's snap happy proclivities. I've seen her polish off much more than my fat arse an at one sitting but this one she ate half of and took the rest home. A short stack is usually a smaller stack of 2 or 3 pancakes. (Yes, a dinky pile, lol.)
DeleteI had to read that last bit twice, haaaa, no, that's butter, it's Wisconsin after all, cows and cholesterol.
That's quite some BLT!
ReplyDeleteWho told you to stop taking pictures? If I take my Mum out for the day or for a meal, she actively encourages me to take pictures! :D
It is indeed, Nikki-ann. My mom was the one telling me, she's not a fan of getting her photo taken, lol. A big hug and thumbs up to your mum.
