Post Easter Godfather Reference and Voting Day

I hope you voted if you had elections today no matter what the weather. Ours belongs back in February with my oversized coat and spiked hot chocolate.
We voted for WI Supreme Court Justice, Court of Appeals and Circuit Court Judges, one of which I actually knew something about. Also whether to eliminate the State Treasurer. I mean the position, not the person although the person himself says to eliminate him I mean it. And I got to write in a guy named Mike for a position nobody wanted, so, fun.

Vote Mike

Later at The Shoebox where I did not donate my winter boots

Whoever told you dogs like this weather was lying

Two days earlier at my mother's where I tried to tell her what leaving the heat at 89˚ would do to buttercream frosting

Luca Brasi says, "Hello."

Belgian chocolate cake pops, also at risk of melting in my mother's apt

    1. I told everyone they were solid chocolate, lol. Imagine their surprise when they put them in the freeze then bashed them on the counter.

  3. The dog looks a little forlorn, as if to say, "Let me out of here."

  4. Oh dear...I had to laugh and laugh about the melting. But, as an old lady myself, I can relate to the desire for heat. Just last night my husband and I were checking online for mention of "cold knees" because I was freezing all over, but especially my knees. Seems it has something to do with my blood sugar.
A whole lot of things have something to do with my blood sugar, it seems. No Easter eggs for me except the hard-boiled kind or, as we had here for Easter, scrambled eggs.
Thanks for sharing your Easter with us!

  6. That woofie looks worried. Hey, I don't vote since I'm a cat but I did get a jury duty notice once!

  7. Oh, gosh, I remember when the Mama cranked up the furnace all the way to its max. Shorts and bare feet in winter for me.

    1. Oh yeah, I have to dress in layers when I'm over there and usually have to open the porch door. And now that we've got a second winter it's all bets off.

  8. Hi Jeanna, it sounds as if you had fun voting and I hope the State Treasurer doesn't really get elimenated, his family may miss him... OoOOoooo I could happily live with your Mum, iced cakes and chocolate may not do well in the heat, but I do. Well better than in the cold anyhow.

Thank you for popping over and sharing at #Keepingitreal

    1. My candidate for WI Supreme Court won and the conservative powers that be are nervous, so it was a good day. The State Treasurer position did not get eliminated and as far as I know the current guy is not swimming with the fishes. The Republicans have been taking power away from this position but the state treasurer still oversees millions earmarked for public libraries. It wasn't even close and another victory for WI Dems.
You do well in the heat do you, lol, well it would be 89 or 90˚ in there at all times if other people weren't ready to faint from the heat when they enter Evelyn's Sauna and Candy Emporium.
You would NOT like the weather this week, then Debbie. And me with a spring haircut.

  9. When I think about the way women fought to get the vote I am amazed that there are women who don't bother.

    1. My sister had no clue and wasn't going to vote. I told her she was worse than her husband whom I disagree with on every political issue from the dawn of until the end of time.

    1. They would have been better if I'd have known what they were from the beginning and dunked them in hot chocolate instead of thinking they were solid chocolate. This place does an incredible job decorating anything that's for sure, Molly.

  14. you go from snow to 89 degrees in just days. wow, that's changeable. Oh,that's in her home. Sorry, I was confused because it got warm here but of course that's because we have no snow. And I really want one belgian pop. Like the dog pic in golden sepia tones, makes it look like it was taken in the 40s or 50s.
