Jellyfish

I took my mother for a check-up and couldn't remember the word, "jellyfish" while we were looking at the waiting room fish tank.

This kid happily walked up to the tank and told us it what it was.

Coincidentally they gave my mother a memory test and let's just say she got impatient with their questions. It did not end well for the residents but gave me a larf.

    1. Oh yeah, I love that word and have all sorts of delicious visions of candied jelly fish swimming through my head.

  2. My Dad thinks he has a bad memory but he doesn't remember telling me that.

  3. Wow, our doctor's surgery has a small fish tank but with tiny fish in it! Jellyfish would be a conversation starter. Love the tale about the memory test! headed over from #mysundayphoto

    1. And I didn't blame her, Sandee. Neither of the residents were particularly suited to geriatric medicine and I couldn't help put chuckle when they met their match.

  8. Hi Jeanna, is that jelly fish real? It's positively glowing! Your Mum sounds like a right character, and one not to be messed with. I love fiesty oldies... My own Mum included.

    1. Yes, it was a happening tank, Deb. Oh man, I didn't care for either of the residents and was just waiting for my mother to tell them to, "Ba fongool!" I found it pretty amusing.

  10. I bet that little boy went home feeling very good about himself for teaching two oldsters the name of that amazing animal that got a crummy name. Sounds like your mom woke up the medical staff from being bored with the usual routine. Good for her.

    1. I think so too, he was pretty matter of fact about it, like, "These two don't know what's going on, I must educate them." Then he went about his business playing with Legos. I like the name, "Jellyfish" cuz it sounds like some fish is made out of jelly or jelly candy like Turkish Delight or Chuckles or Swedish fish or Jujyfruits. Mmm, now I'm thinking Turkish Delight Fish would be a great addition to any story.
Oh yeah, these two were pathetic and don't get me started on the Universities practice of using these kids just out of school who know nothing and are going to move on in a few months. I actually found out today they screwed up a Rx. I'm sure the one trying to conduct the survey saw me laughing.

  12. Smart mom - smart daughter:) Great capture of the aquarium!
About your comment about the landscapes, yeah I've lived in even more places in Europe, and you are very perceptive that is why it's easy for me to connect to other cultures )it of course also helped I had a minor in anthropology) - you see it in what kind of bloggers connect to All Seasons 12 (counting the people from the UK too) out of 27.

    1. There are people from 12 different countries who follow All Seasons? I guess that makes sense. What do you do with a degree in anthropology? I'm guessing more than one in theater.

  13. What I did with my anthropology? One of my specialties for my therapy was cross-cultural issues, so students of other countries came in - which was a lot of fun, because I like that age between twenty and forty:) Because they still like change.
