Midway Through August

I found the midway at Angell Park open, deserted and ripe for another romp with my favorite PNS filter, Impressive Art. It might not be a serious camera, but it's the camera I had.

You try keeping your saddle smelling daisy fresh at corn festivals and Taco Tuesdays

Another sign of old age, the first thing I notice are the benches

Wait, wait, so I said, "What's wrong with standing over inflatable poop emojis all day, you got no nose!"

Cue the killer clowns

  1. Looks like a cool filter, I like it! I'm a fan of Taco Tuesday, but killer clowns creep me out. Sometimes we will load up on tacos on Tuesday and eat over at the local park. Good times!

    1. Simple filter and camera, but a nice little cheat for the right circumstances. Makes the sky look interesting. You wouldn't be a fan of Taco Tuesday if someone ate a bunch of tacos then rode around on your back if you know what I'm saying.

    1. It would have been more fun with freshly steamed and buttered corn.

  5. I'm with Brian and the clowns. Never been a fan. I'm all for those benches too. I know I'm old.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

    1. Yeah, I'm a big believer in a place to sit, ha. I don't think I cared about clowns either way but movies like "It" don't make me want to join the circus.

  7. Daisy fresh saddles? My mind boggles! What I love about these images is the sky in the background. No idea how this filter works but that sky looks amazing and very threatening. great shots. #mysundayphoto

    1. Yeah, there are blue daisies on the saddle, so eau de buttocks is hard to get out if you're a merry-go-round horse. Yes, the sky is the thing, John.

    1. I bet you do, but a few more years and it's all the fairs and fests you can handle.

    1. I almost went back today, but there's still plenty o corn to be had and I don't cherish sitting on that grassy hill balancing a tote of corn, napkins, camera, case and a drink.

  10. Hi Jeanna, killer clowns would not be out of place in these photos. The dramatic effect is even making the aliens look creepy!

    1. Killer clowns are the first thing that popped into my addled brain, Deb. Those yellow aliens were whooping it up, the green and yellow heads, not so much, standing over poop emojis and all.

  11. Absolutely loving the first photo! I've not been to a fair for years.

    1. I liked that one too, if I go it's for the smells and photo ops. I might get the occasional cotton candy or weird fried junk food.

    1. Yeah, I like all that stuff too, used to see it when I transferred buses downtown every school day. Like it better now cuz no pervy guys grabbing my arse.

  13. Love the caroussel - such fun for kids as well as adults to ride it! It looks great with this filter, Jeanna! Don't know the two filters you mentioned, but it gives a great focus, and colors:) Don't tell me you first looked for a bench - you are waaay to young for that! Thanks you for sharing this fun Midway event with All Seasons:)
Thanks for your comment - this lady thinks she's the Lion King but has no wisdom with humans, lol!

    1. The filter is called, "Impressive Art," J. The camera is a little Lumix point-and-shoot (PNS) made by Panasonic. I'm 61 and aging fast, J., but it's really my knees which scream at me to sit.

  14. Bathrooms and benches are the first things I look for when I go places these days. I like how your colors pop in your photos, Jeana. Pop, pop, pop. Makes the grey sky look more ominous.

    1. Yeah, this is really a cheat filter on a little cheat camera, Susie, but what better place for it than a midway.

  15. Well, you may call it a simple camera, but the photos you took are great.
It just goes to show you, it's 25% camera, and 75% photographer.
