Put Up Yer Mitts

I saw these bike mittens a few winters back while scrambling over a frozen snow bank to get some po' boys from the New Orleans Take-Out by Camp Randall (which Trip Advisor gives 4.5 owl eyes). It hasn't been that cold (yet) this winter and we've barely had snow.
However, the weather is being forecast with idioms like It's Time To Pay The Piper and it's making me nervous. I'm actually wearing shorts right now because I live in denial and lately, indoors.

I get cold and hungry every time I look at this photo. Notice the dedicated Onion newspaper box. We may live in the ice and snow but we can still laugh about it. Although it's hard when your lips are stuck to your teeth.

    1. I suppose the mountains must be cold and snowy. I'm still pretty happy with 40˚ and above. We have barely had any snow so far which is fine by me but that is supposed to come to an end soon.

  2. That does look cold. It's cold here, but we rarely get snow. I think it was 76 the last time. Works for me.

Have a fabulous day and enjoy wearing those shorts. ♥

    1. I would think you'd never get snow, Sandee. We've had very little but I'll get back to you after the next few days. I'll take 76˚, but that's getting a tad on the warm side for me. Unless you're on water of course.

  3. Those mittens certainly look cozy warm. I wouldn't mind a pair for my feet.

    1. They do, I was so thrilled to see someone using a pair the other day. I guess that makes winter official. I think they're called, "shoes." (:

    2. hahahahha. I don't bother wearing "shoes" unless I'm going outdoors, and even then, if it's too cold to stay barefoot more than a few minutes.

    3. Ah, as your illustrations suggests. Is that you in boy clothes frolicking outdoors? My nephew Andy never wore shoes, little demon, forever taking them off even as a wee lad.

    4. Tis me. In a dress, though. Early photos show me wandering around in dresses that Mama made.

    5. Ahhh, I liked both a nice dress and a good wander way back when.

    1. If I were still biking in the winter I'd wear a thin pair of gloves as well.

  5. We have seen those around. We love winter with the cold and snow, but are not bike riders, so we don't have any of those mittens.

    1. I see that you guys do love winter, and you've brought a smile to my tired face. Not as tired as you though I think (: I hope your paws didn't get too cold cuz it's not easy to get active pups to put on mittens or boots. (But it sure is funny to watch them try to get around in them.)

  6. Those mittens look good to me. We are prepping for some crazy winter weather here in Kentucky, for the weekend. I guess we are all going to pay the piper. Thanks for linking up today.

    1. I think my days of snow biking are over, Michelle. I do remember one bike fit with skis instead of wheels and the guy was heading for the biggest hill in town. In Kentucky, that doesn't seem right, I hope you get through it okay. We're gearing up here as well and just heard another panicky, "Winter is here" comment.
