The good news is that I'm still on my two pound a week weight loss track despite the criminal amounts of sweet corn I've eaten this summer, so that small drop in a very fat bucket is getting bigger.
The bad news, I'll be spending a substantial amount of time in a Frankenstein walking boot with possible surgery as a result of all this healthy activity.
And until I'm confident I can carry around a camera with a ridiculously expensive lens without falling over I'm passing off these week old photos from the Corn Festival as new. Shouldn't have said that.
Must. Eat. Corn.

I knew healthy activity wasn't healthy! I hope you are doing okay.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. I need to rethink quality time spent curled up in a sun beam.
DeleteHope your foot is ok!!
ReplyDeleteFoot, ankles, knees, toes, oy. Yet I feel oddly healthy, Tamar.
DeleteGood for you on the weight loss. I'm trying to exercise every day to tone up - the old age fat fairy seems to be after me...
ReplyDeleteLydia, I can not connect to you through any of your links, will keep trying.
DeleteIt's the exercise which is causing all the problems, lol. Oh yes the old age fat fairy started visiting me regularly in middle age, gave it a rest for a bit then came back to make up for lost time.
I enjoyed your new corn festival photos LOL
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh at I'll be spending a substantial amount of time in a Frankenstein walking boot
Have a corntastic week :-)
Or perhaps I could throwback to the 80s since that's the only decade mainstream radio plays anymore and walk like an Egyptian.
DeleteI would have loved to go there. I love corn on the cob. With lots of butter of course.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and week. ♥
I know, lol, corn is really just a salt and butter delivery system. I did, however, grab a third ear the other day that had gone cold and ate the whole thing without either salt or butter. Now that's some good sweet corn.
DeleteHope your foot is better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! :-)
Thanks Joy and you as well. I wish I were craftier so I could join in on your Monday fun but it's nice to see what you and your talented followers are up to.
DeleteSorry bout the blank thumbnail ... there is a post! Out in the Olympic NP and have poor connection. Even sorrier about your foot issues. Best wishes for successful surgery or whatever treatment you d cide in. ... all your pics look new to me (and like lots of fun). Take care!
ReplyDeleteHa, indeed there is, Sallie, and a quite interesting one as always. I keep thinking how I'd have trouble keeping up with you before but now, ach, I'm actually going in for another boot fitting today. It takes soooo long for most of these medical professionals to get back to you and of course everyone's a specialist...don't get me started...too late. Who knows about surgery and when I'll even get an answer or educated guess. The pics are from about a week ago and mark the last festival I'll probably go to this year, sob. But we'll see. I hope you're place isn't anywhere near Hurricane or Tropical Storm Dorian.
DeleteCongratulations on your regular weight loss. Sad to hear the body isn't keen on a healthier lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's slow going and some days I feel as if I haven't accomplished much but it does pay off in many ways. I guess everything has a price but I'm pretty hopeful I can get around these latest roadblocks eventually.
DeleteFun shots!
ReplyDeleteTa, Fi.
DeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Happy Tuesday. ♥
You too, Sandee, hope this week treats you well.
DeleteBouncy turds! lol
ReplyDeleteOh, no! I had to wear a moon boot for almost a year and a splint at night to stretch my Achilles tendon, but I couldn't sleep properly with the splint so I never wore it for more than a couple of hours each night. Because it can flare up again, I still can't go walking like I used to.
The view of the heap of corn, some eaten, in your video is hilarious! Great post Jeanna!
ReplyDeleteThat alien balloon is something. How fun!
ReplyDeleteI need to loose weight. It's so hard! I have asthma bad. When I exercise I get wheezy. When I puff in Steroids I gain weight.
Good for you on keeping up your weight loss. I do pray you heal soon, it sucks not being able to do what you want.
ReplyDeleteGreat post on 'My Corner of the World' this week! Thanks for linking up!
I hope that your foot gets better soon. Sorry to hear that, will be sending positive wishes.
ReplyDeleteTwo pounds a week, very cool, Jeanna! That's a tough goal to achieve, especially when being healthy screws up your limbs. I get ya about the pain. It took more than a year for my ankles's muscles to feel normal. Now that I've got the pain of my sparkling no-cartilage knees in order, my feet are not working right. I'm seriously considering knee surgery for next year.
ReplyDeleteWe've only eaten corn a few times so far. Not much of a crop this year. What we've eaten has been sweet. Ymmmm. Microwave in the oven in its husk, take out, remove wrapping, and eat. Yummmm.
I hate it when you get into doing something you enjoy only to get injured. Have you tried swimming? That's a good, low impact sport. Good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I did not realize you were in a walking boot! I have had experience in that...but wonder what is the story to yours....if there is a specific post that explains, I don't care if you leave a link in a comment or email me if you want. I felt Feb 12 last year, and had 3 breaks, had fracture blisters develop and was off my feet till up in may...not a good time.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, that's awful, I have no idea how I'd handle being out of commission that long. So you had three breaks in your foot? I don't know what a fracture blister is but they sound awful. I was having problems with the six weeks in a walking boot but I'm still waiting to get an appointment with a foot and ankle specialist to see what's what.
DeleteI don't think I mentioned it before but the boot is for a tear in my peroneal tendon on my right foot. It's been problem before when walking in the water but with more walking on land it started to hurt out of the water too.
The podiatrist wanted me in a boot, then today a sports med doc said I didn't really have to use it considering all the issues I was having wearing the thing and that I'd probably need surgery. A few days ago the other tendon started to hurt along with my ankle so yeah, it sucks.
Fun photos! Good luck with weight loss!
ReplyDeleteMy husband had to stay off his feet for three months. It was rough! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWell done with the weight loss and lots of luck with your foot! #TwinklyTuesday
