A Little Foggy Say Cheese!

I've had a case of brain fog while trying to juggle everything.

How long has it been since the St. Paddy's Day parade was cancelled, a month, a year?

Let me look it up, because, you know, brain fog. It was cancelled on March 12 and a stupid little thing it seems now, but if my ultra Irish Aunt Ginny were still alive she'd have taken it as a sign of the apocalypse.

That wouldn't be such a bad thing if you believe in The Simpson's version of Catholic Heaven, especially if there's Irish dancing.

I reference this clip a lot. Maybe because I'm both Irish and Italian and was forced to, uh, was lucky enough to attend Catholic school for 12 years, 12 long years.

This is the biker riding down the street in full hazmat gear I was telling you about, LA. He was wearing a respirator mask too, but I couldn't get the shot. It was like chasing down a squirrel (shudder).

Whether you're in a hazmat suit or a fog, why not take a minute to Say Cheese!

    1. It was a little creepy, Bri, and it only escalates the feeling that we're all just actors in the beginning of a horror flim.

  2. Brain fog is the new normal these days. I survived Catholic School too (but only eight years ... our small town didn’t have a HS. Wait, I mean not a Catholic High..... I did graduate from the one everybody went to. Off to link up. Be well, be safe. Also, it is possible your ultra Irish Aunty would have been right.

    1. I figured you graduated from HS since you were a teacher (weren't you), lol. Even if the world was ending Aunt Ginny couldn't have been more full of life. She was a shining example of living every day as if it were your last and I still can't believe we lost her.
Funny that if I had had kids, their sorry little arses would have been put in Catholic school just as I was.

    1. It was, Stevie, and it didn't dissipate the whole time I was schleping around.

  4. Love the hazmat suit shot. You've hit the nail on the head tho - the weirdest thing about this, is how elastic time has become. It feels like this has been going on forever and it's only been (for us) really a week (of hardcore isolation). It's soooo weird.

    1. I haven't isolated and my biggest worry is having to because my mother would not survive this without me.
You have some great Zoom ideas, I hope you're keeping busy.

    1. Thanks, Margy, I was feeling kind of weird when I took them. Fog is so moody, it almost feels like cheating, lol.

    1. Thank you, Veronica and thanks for the laugh, the cat looks like it didn't appreciate being the butt of a visual joke.

    1. I bet it's extra cool and moody on the water, Sandee. It does add an extra layer of quiet, maybe that's why I like it so much.

  8. I think we've all been in brain fog. LOL! I'm a teacher. I went from only having one real blog, to having four. I needed something to post all my student's stuff on. It seems to be working ok.

The biker in the suit cracked me up!

    1. Yes we have all been a bit foggy, especially some of these people not social distancing. So far I've only seen teenagers and older people who just don't get it. Four blogs sounds like a LOT of work. I hope those slacker students start responding to you soon. I'm seeing more of that kind of hazmat on a bike thing, but not on the bike trails yet. Unfortunately my favorite places outdoors may need people wearing masks more than in town soon.

  9. Jeanna, the clip is too funny - they have line dancing ... some of the other things seem "plausible" we only find out when we get there:):) Your fog captures show so well the somber mood - hope you are taking things well right now. It will be only a month before we go back to normal daily life!!Yay!

    1. I used to Irish dance, but not like that, we did more of the reels. Yes, I love that clip and describe it to my mother when she talks about dying. I felt on edge but fascinated and kind of energized when I took the pics.
You are very optimistic, J. I'm hoping we get a taste of a virus free summer but not sure we will.

  11. I loved the Simpsons clip! I also attended Catholic school for 12 years. Brain fog is common these "stay at home" days, but as long as we stay healthy it's worth it!

    1. Didn't those 12 years seem like a lifetime or life sentence? I wish I could stay at home but then again I may have violated it to let my neighbors know how much I appreciate them slamming the door a million times a day! I've got cabin fever and I leave every day to exercise and take care of my mother.

  12. What a sweet post! I am the product of Catholic school grades k to 11 as they closed the schools and I was put into a public school. Worst experience, yikes! Thank goodness I Had the grades and credits to graduate early. Whew what a long time ago that was. I am happy I stoped by. Thank you and stay safe and healthy.

  13. Well, I really enjoyed myself here. Your photos tell a story about a nice lady that loves the life around her. Your pictures were wonderful and the story about the man on the bike told me how grateful you are too. By the way, I too am half Italian, but my dad was German & English. Also, I went to Catholic High school and grammar school. Have a great day ^& thank you for sharing your day! hugs & be healthy!

    1. I had to snicker at "nice lady." I am grateful for what I've got though, Dolly. That's a lovely European stew, I'm Italian, Irish and Norwegian, in that order. I think us survivors of Catholic school should stick together.

  14. Very beautiful shots of a foggy day, Jeanna! I can closely relate to brain fog these days, ever since we've all gone into lockdown mode. Ditto for the catholic schooling experience (11 years!) Decades ago, but still fresh in my mind, even today.

Happy Wednesday! Stay safe, my friend.

  15. There's something very 'misterious' about fog (pardon the pun). Lovely pictures
