Desert Snow

There were some interesting tracks next to the ice rink on Stricker's pond. I wondered where they led.

Wait, is that a pyramid?

  1. Dang, if we get that much snow everything is closed for at least a week!

    1. Ha, this is really nothing, Brian. It's just that it's been fairly nice all winter and then it got cold and snowed for ten days in a row in February. But compared to other snowfalls we wave a paw at this amount and say, "Pffftt." It's yet to convince me to wear my snow boots which sit there unused in the hallway.

  2. I would have expected an igloo :)

  3. Honestly I'm too lazy to walk all the way out there and my telephoto lens crapped out on me so I'll have to go back and have another look. But yeah, an igloo would be appropriate, depending on the day in this schizo weather we've had this winter.

    1. If you knew how crazy the weather has been, Ella. They were just talking about 40˚ weather in the same breathe as an upcoming rainy ice deal then I'm sure it will all freeze over, dip into the teens then shoot up to 50 (10) the next day. No one knows what to expect or wear so I dress in layers and took the lining out of my coat. My cousin was sweating from wearing just a regular quilted jacket with a warm lining the other day. It's going to have to do a LOT better than this for me to put on boots. I'm turning into one of those old farts who talks about how much snow we used to have as a kid, lol.

    1. Thanks, Jane, as the saying goes, "It doesn't matter what the weather is today because it will change tomorrow." Just about everybody knows someone with a snow plow and homeowners have snowblowers. That's one of the reasons I live in an apt., lol.

    1. Yes, I wish I could have captured the energy of people walking dogs, playing on the ice and the broom ball players who had just finished their game. It was sunny and 34˚ and people were very happy and active. Darn lens got dust or something in it and stopped working, kind of tripped me up. Oh well, next time.

  8. Enjoy the winter, much like what we've got up here in Canada. :-)
