Suspicion

I thought when Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone in the first quarter of that Viking game in mid-October it was some kind of karmic payment for a relatively snowless and mild winter. Except for a few eyeball freezing days here and there, it's been one of the more *pleasant winters on record.
However we're looking forward to the "snowiest week of the winter" just as Rodgers is healing up nicely in the Pebble Beach sun with Danica Partick. I find it suspicious is all.

A community of ice people is forming in Middleton on Lake Mendota

Looks like a good place for a sandwich and hot chocolate. Watch out for lunatics on ATVs

I almost got stuck down the road from here where I shouldn't have been in the first place. Hoorah for good tires and AWD

*Pleasant meaning no disasters like the one in 2008 shown in the video above

  2. I could stand a day or two, but not more than that! Snow does make for lovely photos, even though it's colder than I care to be :)

  4. It seems that only part of the planet has "winter surprised"
In the Scandinavian part of Europe is very cold, in the rest not so.
In the Netherlands only a few nights were very cold, but no snow.

    Greetings from the Nederlands! 😅

    1. That's what most of the season has been like, just some crazy cold here and there and not much snow, but it seems as if the universe or Mother Nature or something is exacting payback.

  5. We had mild winters here in Ohio the past two, but so far this winter, we are seeing more snow and cold. But still, for us, we are on the milder side of some winters that I remember. Great photos. Like the hot chocolate one and caption. lol

    1. It's so much more peaceful in the winter and I can't get enough hot cocoa these days, Pe Bea. It's been like that here but I swear as soon as Aaron Rodgers healed it all went south (or north).

    1. Ugh, I've been trying to get the nerve to go out in this but the snow is coming again and who knows when it will stop. Well, the weatherman knows but I forgot what he said. To me it sounded like, "Grab your camera, get groceries, run a few errands, check on everyone then park in the garage for as long as the hot chocolate and cookies hold out."

    1. It's going to start up again tonight and go for a few days. I think it's making up for the lack of any we've had so far. I've noticed more Christmas trees planted on the lakes this year, I should do a post on that but it might involve me getting out of the car. I wouldn't mind no snow again.

    1. We're way below the average but I think it's going to get crazy by this weekend. So far the only problems I've had have been in driveways and parking lots!

  9. Oooooo lordy I hate drivin' in the snow with traffic. I always make the hubby drive whenever I can that's for sure and walking in it is out of the question for sure. I'd rather stay home & hybernate for sure! hahaha~ Thanks for stopping by! hugs Following your social networks...

    1. The parking lots were the ones that got me and the driveway could have killed somebody cuz of that kid on the ATV in a hurry to go nowhere. It doesn't take much to get your snow legs back but there will always be idiots on the road (and in the parking lot and on the ice and speeding down county park driveways).
